So Twilight, being the good friend she is, decides to calm him down as much as she can. However, she may have been a little too nice to him, because later that night Spike begins to have romantic dreams about her. At first they horrify him, but eventually he begins to like them. Then he finally begins to understand why he keeps having these dreams; he's beginning to fall in love with his best friend, but will she return his affection or leave him out in the cold like Rarity?

Spike has made it to 17, a time when a colt becomes a stallion, at least for ponies. The same goes for our Dragon as he realizes what being a man truly means. After an altercation during his Birthday, spike will face his fate and possibly his doom at the hooves of a dark, and demented tyrant. It will be up to him to protect Twilight, to be her Guardian in the upcoming war against the shadows....

After a failed attempt at casting spell by Twilight, Spike gets sent to the void, a place which is unlike any other. What will happen to the poor dragon if he were to return one year later, changed, to the world he once knew with horrible memories slowly eating at his mind and only his friends to help him through it all to stop the terrible evil which makes its way to Equestria?

A Spilight story with some fiction to make up for Spike's age and additional knowledge to keep the story moving. Not too much fluff or action happening too fast... everything has its time and place because true love matures slowly!

What can you expect:
-It will be long, I have planned 30 chapters including Prologue & Epilogue so the action might be a little slow at times.
-Spilight but in later chapters. I want to take it slooooow
- Gore: Yes...not at first, but there will be chapters with heavy scenes which might be too...detailed or not suited for sensitive readers as I do have medical knowledge about the subject.
- Sex: Yes, but probably hinted at, in chapter 28. Might write a stand alone CLOP-fic later.

In the first of three books, Pillars of the Sun (Chapters 1-15), Spike is devastated by Twilight's fate and grows more and more despondent as he attempts to understand what has happened to his dearest friend. A gentle nudge from a pony he trusts sends him looking for answers. When that nudge becomes a push he unravels ancient secrets... and risks losing himself before his attempt to rescue Twilight can even begin.
