With Twilight away in Canterlot, Spike is left to his own devices. But Ponyville isn't the busiest of towns and before long, boredom begins to creep.
So to cheer himself up he decides to go spend time with his friends. Five stalwart companions whom he has known through thick and thin.
But Spike soon begins to realise that really, those are Twilight's friends. Not his.
In fact he starts to wonder whether, since he moved to Ponyville, he's actually made any friends at all...
(*2nd edition. Based on feedback, the final chapter and epilogue have been added-to to better reflect the contributions of the CMC.)
Twilight looked over to her dear mentor, Princess Celestia, and found she had once again fallen asleep mid-lesson. Her intense debate on awakening the princess was cut short when the decision was taken out of her hooves.
“Huh? Oh. Twilight, I am so sorry for falling asleep again. I think we need to reschedule this for tomorrow morning.”
Twilight nodded. After all, Princess Celestia was obviously overworked. If only there was something she could do to help.

Story canon-compliant up through the end of Season Four. It stands on its own, but it occurs after Slice of Life. In relation to my other CheesePie stories, it falls just after Goodbye, Boneless and just before Good Morning, Beautiful. Oh, yes, and implied CheesePie, although this shouldn't be a big surprise.

Fluttershy has always wanted to give more of her kindness towards ponies. However, her shyness impedes her speaking, which makes her hard to express herself. After asking for her help, Pinkie Pie teaches Fluttershy to communicate with physical interactions instead, like hugs.
It works so well that Fluttershy decides to hug every pony in Ponyville.

Written with the single goal to create the cutest, most heartwarming short story I can imagine (without going romance).
Dreams are such delicate things, and Scootaloo’s are more fragile than most.
But in Equestria, dreams are protected. Sometimes a filly just needs a helping hoof to learn how to hope again.

This story has a reading! Slightly older version of the story, but the reading is very well done. It can be found here.
Trapped in Apple Bloom's wardrobe in order to cover her, Scootaloo is forced to entertain herself as quietly as possible.
It goes about as well as you can expect.
As winter looms, Fluttershy dreads the lonely months ahead. Surprisingly, she finds comfort in a small filly that shares her loneliness.
Fair or not, most classes have that one perfect student, that one little flower that the teacher can't help but adore. Cheerilee's class is no different.
