Sunset Shimmer, the Magus of Freeport, has always been of two minds regarding Strumming Heartstrings. The Equestrian spy is irritating, difficult to work with, and does a lot of things Sunset doesn't approve of. However, when an old enemy leaves Strumming on death's door, Sunset will have to decide how far she's willing to go to bring her attackers to justice.

Tirek, an international criminal mastermind with eyes in every corner of the globe, has secured two halves of a treasure that is said to lead to a land rich with magic - the land of Equestria. He still needs two more items, though, before the portal can be opened.

FBI agents Shining Armor, Chrysalis, Cadance, Blueblood and Gilda, together with Equestrian native Sunset Shimmer, must find these items before Tirek's people do. Enlisting the help of former villains familiar with Equestrian magic and archaelogical expert Daring Do, the race is on to save Equestria.

All stories start somewhere. All heroes must take their first steps before coming things of legend.

Sunset Shimmer had grand ambitions upon becoming Freeport's only magus, most importantly helping out the citizens of Freeport itself. When she hears of an outlying farming community in danger from a horde of undead, she knows she has to help them. Even if they can't pay her fees, it's the right thing to do.

However, this new challenge might be too much for her to handle. These zombies are unlike anything she's ever seen, and an old enemy is mixed up in the middle of all of this. Sunset has no idea what dark secrets the undead horde hides, or the danger posed by the necromancer behind it.

Sometimes the most ominous words one can hear are: "We need to talk."

After the events of "Every Little Thing She Does," Twilight's friends get together with her to talk about Starlight Glimmer. It turns out her friends have some more concerns over just what's happened with Starlight and they explore how Twilight factors into things.

The girls go over some of the things they've learned in the past as they try to chart out a course for the future of Starlight Glimmer.
