Meet Lavender, a rare offspring brought into the world by a loving dragon and a beautiful pony. She is told constantly by her parents that she is a beautiful gift of nature, but she is reminded everyday about just how different she is from the rest of the world. She is going to learn very rapidly how cruel and unforgiving the world can be for anything different from them.

Follow the journey of Spike, Rarity, and their offspring Lavender from birth to adulthood as they try to survive prejudice, natural impulses, and even their relationship between each other.

This story is a sequel to The Darkness of Love

Spike saved the Elements of Harmony, but a past mistake had caught up to him. He died a week later, leaving Twilight heartbroken, holding a crystal that contained half his soul from before he succumbed to dark magic.

Now, some months later, Twilight has spent her time searching for the key to bringing Spike back. With everything in place, and Cadence assisting her with Spike's resurrection, will everything go as planned, or will something falter and leave Spike half of or twice what he used to be?

When the Cutie Mark Crusaders and Spike are kidnapped the Mane 6 go to rescue their sisters and favourite purple dragon but soon find that it may be harder then they first thought. Now with their sisters and dragon being held captive the Mane 6 must find some-pony who can rescue their sisters (And Dragon). One certain stallion comes to mind but he is a little more than reluctant to help them

Spike becomes better acquainted with a certain Deejay pony.

When Twilight finds a horribly distraught Gilda in the library, begging for help with Rainbow Dash, what is she to do? Twilight, the number one expert on friendship, has been asked to help with a friendship issue, so why not? It should make an interesting letter to the Princess if nothing else.
