Twilight grows worried but has faith that the power of friendship will conquer him. King Sombra may have not spoken much during the battle, but he has plenty to say to Twilight...

Post civil-war, Equestrian scientists and engineers across the world exhibit incredible technological advancements, such as the ability for earth ponies and pegasi to use magic. However, Equestria's unsustainability and overpopulation crisis further threatens the prosperity of the civilization. To search for a solution to the world's dilemma, Celestia and Twilight devise a secretive exploration project known as "Starship Ponyville 327000". Its goal: to launch hundreds of soldiers and scientists into the farthest reaches of space to discover other habitable worlds. Amidst these things, a brave new hero is born, bringing an even more serious threat with her.

Twilight, believing something has happened to her memory, seeks out Princess Celestia to see if she recognizes it and can offer a cure. But the answer lies far deeper in the root of her nature and her life as the Princess of Friendship than she would have ever expected.

Twilight has gone through the kitchen door of her family home in Canterlot hundreds of times. Next to that door is the family tree, which Twilight rarely took notice of. But when she looks at Applejack's family tree, she recognizes the phrase beneath the dead ponies' names and realizes an anomaly that she had forgotten for a very long time. There's a third name on her family tree, and it bears that phrase.

Written for BaeroRemedy's "I'll Never Forget You" contest, and inspired by a similar experience regarding my own family tree and one of my aunts. Rest in peace, Jean Marie.

Just one thing going wrong can spiral you into a horrible place, something that Soarin learned firsthand during a Wonderbolts show. One minute he was flying and the next, his world went dark. He's left bedridden and comatose, aware of his surroundings but without a way to respond to them.

Left in the darkness, he can only listen to the pony he loves.
