An alternative to HiE stories. Midnight, a 14th century knight's steed and veteran of numerous battles during the hundred years war, faces her demise during one such engagement only to find that fate has other plans in store; including a chance to start anew in another world. But can a mare who knows nothing but conflict adapt to a land ruled by peaceful pastel-coloured ponies, or will it prove too much?

Warning: contains brief scenes of descriptive violence; especially in earlier chapters. Not enough to warrant an M rating, I think, but hopefully the mods will let me know if I'm wrong.

This led to the question of what would happen when you share a bit too much friendship (via Torrents)?

On the Day of the Dying Sun, she performed Astrum Nova. From then on, that world ceased to exist.

Twilight Sparkle, daughter of the highly exalted Captain Night Light, was (to put it lightly) hilariously underwhelming. The only reason why she was one of Princess Celestia's students? Because a place as a personal student of the princess was a reward for the captain. Other than that, she was a scrawny unicorn with no actual magical talent, other than the whole bunch of magical theories crammed into her head. To make it worse, Sunset Shimmer, greatest unicorn the world has ever seen, was her only classmate. But Celestia has entrusted her with a journal, and the knowledge of the Elements of Harmony and the harmonic energy field they radiate, keeping Equestria safe from harm for eons. As a sinister plan for a coup emerges in Canterlot, Twilight must find and gather the Elements and their bearers. But how is this possible, in a world where castes and tribes separate true friendship? In this story, Twilight must discover new friends as she uncovers dark truths and questions about the events leading up to the present-day Equestria. Who was Starlight Glimmer? What was Astrum Nova? And most importantly, how is it possible that the journal was written by another (and for some reason, winged) Twilight?

Sunset Shimmer is just an average, everyday unicorn-turned-magical-girl who fights off the occasional arcane threat to her local high school, that hails from her old home dimension. After the recent mishap of the Friendship Games, Sunset knows she has found true magic in the form of six great friends and a talking dog. With this magic, she knows she can handle any situation that can come her way.
Unfortunately, waking up in a strange city with a stranger animal on her head doesn't quite qualify as something she's prepared for.

ACT One: (Chapters 1-10)
After a fatal tragedy, Twilight wakes up in a situation unlike anything she had experienced before. How is she supposed to react when she finds herself reincarnated as the daughter of Queen Chrysalis, the very one who orchestrated her assassination? Does she give into the rage and loss of her former self, or does she hold true to the magic of friendship?

ACT Two: Synopsis incoming

I had a real name once. Don't remember it much anymore. Not surprising as it's been a few thousand years since I last used it. Now I go by the name Booker... or Pagey... or Mr. Wordsworth... or whatever name some adorable pony has graced me with and I'm too much of a doormat to say no. Dang it, Star Swirl, did you cast some spell on your descendants or something?

So yeah, I'm one of the latest victims of the Merchant. Really should have known better when I was offered that delectable limited-edition Touhou fanbook by some guy who looked like he was ripped from a Stephen King novel, but I'm too much of a bibliophile to pass something like that up, you know? Now I'm stuck in what should be a children's cartoon show with powers that no mortal being should have and enough baggage to choke a hydra.

At least I have my books, even if I do have to beat them into submission occasionally.

You know the drill. Comicon. Cosplay. Merchant. Boom, Equestria.

I woke up not in a land of technicolor ponies, but within the lands of their dreams. They had no protector, no one to stave off the nightmares and keep them safe. So I took on that role, and watched over them as if they were my own.

Until recently, when their previous protector finally came back.

A thousand years ago, the Protector of Dreams, Princess Luna was banished to the moon. And tonight she finally returned.

Meet Level Ledger, your average, well-read unicorn colt. He has a talent with numbers and systems, which is why Pegasus Air was so interested in acquiring his talents. They use him to make sure their books are balanced. Both the legal ones...and the ones that'll never see the light of day.

Meet Midnight Song, your not-average, well-trained Thestral mare. Everything she sets out to do, she accomplishes with aplomb. When she rises a little too quickly through the Day Guard's ranks, her superiors decide she needs to cool off and learn a bit about how to be a mature member of the Guard. Not a bad idea, seeing as she's a massive flirt.

When Level's rent goes up, he needs to take a roommate or risk being thrown out into the street. A twist of fate will see these two souls coming together and having the time of their lives.

Now, if only one of them could tell the truth to save their life...

A collab fic worked on by myself and Ausbrony. We liked the setting of Las Pegasus and the villains of Pegasus Air a lot, so we put our heads and characters together, and this came from our efforts.

In lieu of a list of dates, I will simply say that this story tends to get featured every time I update it for a short while at least. And I am very happy about that fact.~
