After an unknowable amount of time sealed inside a prison of magical stone, Cozy Glow finally escapes. The hapless young Princess who freed her, intent on allying with the "Frozen Foal" to oppose her family's tyrannical rule, doesn't have any idea how dramatically her plans are about to go awry.

And neither, it turns out, does Cozy Glow.

Tortured by guilt, shame, and the shadow of Nightmare Moon always inside her, Luna passes the ages locked in a prison on her beloved moon. As the thousandth year approaches, she must make a choice whether to face her darkness or be consumed by it.

As the sun sets on another day in the magical land of Equestria, an era sets along with it. One of the last remaining participants of a bygone age rests idly, bracing themselves to face whatever lies beyond this mortal coil.

Twilight Sparkle is no stranger to death. As an alicorn, one of the immortal rulers and protectors of Equestria, she's seen many dear friends come and go over the countless years. But through it all, there was one confidant she could always find solace in: Spike, her faithful dragon assistant and adoptive little brother.

Alas, not even dragons, long-lived as they are, can endure forever. Now, with mere hours remaining before Spike leaves this world for the next, the time has come for Twilight to bid farewell to the first and last of her very best friends.

It's been about a month since Spike went through his molt, and both he and Twilight are still getting used to his newly sprouted wings. Needless to say, the development has brought on quite a few changes; some deliberate, others... not so much.

Of course, with new circumstances come new opportunities. Spike's wings let him fly, obviously, but there's one thing in particular he'd like to learn to do with them. And the lesson starts with one simple question for Twilight:

"Could you teach me how to give a wing-hug?"

Twilight is still fresh from her coronation as sole Princess of Harmony. The junior Anarch of Chaos is even more clueless than she is. Together, they wrangle the responsibilities of their predecessors.

Screwball is hooves down the hardest horsey harlequin I've put pen to paper and picked to portray. Hopefully her dithering dialogue sounds suitably strange while still somewhat sensible, since her speech sits saddled with an awkwardly articulated alliteration affinity and a readiness for randomly recursive restless rambling.

As a professional athlete, Dash goes to regular physicals. As an Element Of Harmony, she goes to regular magicals too. Soul examination is her least favorite part, but at least the patient blacks out while their spirit is in capable hooves.

After a year of (admittedly sporadic) Thursday installments, the five protagonists of the Snippet Series finally stop living their lives in parallel and meet up at a Wonderbolt expo to share in some closure.

This story was a long time coming, and it concludes the storylines most enjoyed by the readers as well as ones most enjoyed by myself.

Befitting an end-of-the year event, I now present four cohesive Snippets for the price of one. I hope they please all of you who've enjoyed the first phase of this ongoing anthology. And for those of you just joining, with this installment you can now read the entire anthology from start to finish.

The requests come in, the paintings go out, and the Bits arrive later. That's the shaky system "Rainbow" has managed to work out for herself. A life lived through letters is a little lonely, but she can at least be certain she'll never be seen by someone who recognizes her copypasted face.

You'd think a Rainbow Dash replica would remember that Twilight uses Spike for everything mail related.
