Discord's words rang in everypony's head at that moment, but were soon forgotten in the midst of his chaos. It is only Twilight Sparkle who has been constantly bothered by his words, relentlessly reminded of them no matter how hard she tries to forget. Now she must seek out somepony close to her, to find out if there is truth in his words.

In some other version of reality, in a future some unnumbered days away, the Glorious Equestrian Empire stands astride the planet like a colossus. After a vigorous day of organising and sending reports to Celestia, Twilight notices Spike is feeling a little ill. He slowly grows more and more cold, before finally falling into a coma that Twilight fears is her own fault.

Going to the Princesses for help, Twilight eventually is brought before an Elder Dragon and comes to the realisation that she may have failed as a caretaker, a friend and as an older sister.

Not much was known about Rainbow Dash's family life, until one day, her brothers decided to pay her a visit.

One night in Canterlot, a writer finished his very sad book.

Only one week later, 1/6th of the Equestrian population was dead.

Once a year, the Townsend occurs. It is a weeklong tradition held by all of Equestria where, for a full week, everypony falls into a very deep -- almost comatose -- state. Nopony knows why or how it happens. It just does. So far, nopony has found any consequences to this strange occurence.

Then, one year, ponies start to go missing.

Then, the next year, more ponies start to go missing. Every year after, some ponies just seem to poof, and are never seen again. Nopony knows what happens to them, and those who try to learn, disappear.

Jazz is a very regular pony. In fact, there's nothing special about her at all. She has many good friends, a crush, even a well-respected family. She lives an average life in the little town of Stableside. That is, until she is unable to fall asleep the night of the Townsend.

This starts a series of events that will shatter Equestria forever.
