Narrowly avoiding imprisonment due to the intervention of the Princess of Friendship, Tempest Shadow reflects and prepares for the new role she has been given in Twilight Sparkle's kingdom.

How long has Princess Luna been alive? It was a question that even the princess in question can't answer completely. It's not her fault. When you become an immortal goddess, time practically loses all meaning and the years fly by in the blink of an eye. It was hard to remember exactly what happened when or who did what at a certain point. It was hard to even remember her own birthday. It's a good thing her daughters were there to remind her.
Not even a Princess of Friendship is exempt from going to the dentist. Despite her best efforts, it's finally time for Twilight to brave the cold halls and mind-numbingly villainous chair of horrors.
However, through casual conversation, things go a direction she didn't expect.
Sometimes, the one's who can help us the most are those we least expect.

It's been a year since the Earth/Equestria Accords were signed, and the cultural exchange is going smoothly. Twilight Sparkle and her friends, some of the first Equestrians to come to Earth, meet at their castle in Equestria to discuss what they've learned on the topic of language.

A plot against the Royal Council of Regents foiled. A mysterious villain defeated. His most loyal lieutenant turned double agent. This is the life of Tempest Shadow.
For her actions in stopping the Storm King, Tempest may very well be called a hero. But her past crimes need an answer not only for Equestria, but for herself. She continues to wrestle with her purpose and her disability now that her servitude to her former master has ended. Tired of her struggles, Tempest Shadow seems content to resign herself to whatever fate the Equestrian intelligence apparatus deems fit.
Twilight Sparkle has other ideas.
Warning: spoilers!
Tempest Shadow aka Fizzlepop Berrytwist has committed quite a few crimes during her time as the Storm King's lieutenant: high treason, slavery, kidnapping, use of forbidden magic conspiracy to overthrow the government, etc.
Now, after her trial, Tempest is locked away in the castle, waiting for the Princesses and the Council to deliver their verdict...

(Update: 11/5/2017 - Major shout-out to Rock-Mint-Swirl who was incredibly nice enough to do a fanart for this story, which you can see right here. It contains story spoilers so please read the fanfic first though.)
The Cutie Mark Crusaders have dealt with all kinds of ponies having trouble finding their true calling in life, but none can compare to the special request they receive from Princess Twilight Sparkle herself, or the shock they receive on discovering who it is: Fizzlepop Berrytwist, possibly the most hated and feared pony in generations. Can a pony who's spent most of her life rejecting her true calling possibly find it now? Can the Cutie Mark Crusaders help a pony who almost everypony else in Equestria has rejected?
Movie Spoilers.

Even though it's only been days since the Storm King's invasion of Equestria, Tempest has now been tasked to start learning about friendship. After an encounter with Starlight Glimmer, she joins the Reformed Unicorn Mares group. Surely interacting with a few ponies can't be too hard, right?
