1002 years ago, Nightmare Moon and Commander Bolt lead Equestria into a year long war which ravaged the lands and spread nothing but fear and pain to the ponies of Equestria. now, Princess Luna has returned to her life of leisure and peace... however her commander now lives his life with self pity and regret. With the weight of the world on his shudders, he hides his identity, ability, and past under rumors and speculation, hoping that the world will assume him dead, and leave him to live in peace. This lonely commander now finds a new home and new friend that make him forget his troubled past.
However, an ancient evil will soon return from its prison too... only this time, it wont be so peaceful for the survivors, of his last rein of death and destruction more than two millenniums ago. Now... the commander must set aside his pride and his anger for the crown. to try all he can to protect his former love... and his friends. when even the Elements of Harmony arn't enough. Meet Star Bolt, a young pegasus who lost his memory after using an ability that was deemed legendary. As he grew up not only did he learn to control this ability, but it allowed him to join the Royal Guard and climb up the ranks to the position of Commander. However when war between the royal alicorn sisters casts Equestria into an eternal eclipse, he must take up his gift/curse and fight alongside his officers to not only defeat Princess Celestia in the name of the Nightmare Legion, but to find a way to bring back the Princess Luna that he knew, befriended and fell in love with. This story of love, regret, anger, war, and heartbreak is the path this Pegasus chose to travel, and even though it's viewed as a mistake by most, Commander Bolt will do whatever it takes and fight through any challeng to reach his goal, whatever it might be.

Ladies and Gentlemen, Fillies and Gentlecolts, I bring you the sequel to Adaptation. I don't know how well it'll go over, but you all seemed to want it, so I figured I'd give it a try.

In this volume, Echo has settled in to her life in Ponyville and has just begun to become accustomed to the strange ways in which ponies behave. While their social norms may be confounding to her, she is satisfied with her life. That is, until Scootaloo comes home from school one day shaken, and Echo finds that not everypony in Ponyville is as understanding and accepting of who she is as she thought they were. What has caused the normally kind ponies in this town to become so suddenly xenophobic?

Tagged gore for possible mild violence.

Echo is a high ranking changeling officer. The Canterlot invasion was going perfectly, and her battalion had personally defeated the Elements of Harmony. Suddenly, she finds herself far flung from Canterlot, crashing into the Everfree forest. Now she is faced with a difficult reality - her hive, the only family she's ever known, no longer exists, and she must adapt to life as a pony. What she finds out about herself, though, will surprise her.

Rated Teen for occasional suggestiveness and language, tagged gore for brief violence, particularly in later chapters.

Dark because later chapters get pretty ... well, dark.

Addendum 5/29/2018

This story is now, as of this addendum, five years old. It is getting more attention as I put out new chapters on the sequel.

I recognize that this story has problems, and that some of them by their nature carry over to the sequel; please remember that when I started writing this, I was not yet even old enough to legally drink in the US. A lot has happened and a lot has changed, and there are many things about this story I regret including, but which it is now too late to change. Some of those things I have simply done my best to ignore and make irrelevant, but some of them are errors from a 19 year old me that will haunt me until the sequel is finished.

In short, please be gentle.

With the warning out of the way, what is this?
This, is my very first attempt at writing a story from back in 2012. It's... not good, to say the least. At the time of posting, it was torn apart by the few brave souls who read it, but there was also some constructive criticism involved, which helped me tremendously down the line.

I eventually deleted this out of shame, not wanting this story to stain my rep so to speak. But now, I think it's funny how bad it is, and I though I'd bring it back to serve as an example for aspiring writers.

Nobody is good at what they do when they start out, and this is proof. I hope that somebody sees how garbage this is, and maybe gets the courage to write something themselves.

More than one thousand years ago, the world was a continuous string of wars. With nations at each other’s throats, leaders would place their trust in the assistance of mercenaries. But of all the mercenaries in the world, none were more feared than a special group known only as “The Cutters”. This group of three ponies, an earth pony and two pegasi were so feared that most nations would hesitate before hiring them. Mainly because their number one rule was to work for the highest bidder. Even if it meant killing their current contractor. With a past shrouded in mystery and a skill unmatched by any nation. these three mercenaries would kill without hesitation, without fear, and without mercy, a jewel for any nation’s military force. Yet there is more to them than what meets the eye.

With Princess Cadence and Shinning Armor's love proving too strong for Queen Chrysalis, she and her changelings are cast far into the distance and out of Equestria. Zeil a changeling who assisted in the attack, fell short and found himself injured and lost in the Everfree Forest. in hopes of receiving first aid, he takes the form of a zebra and ask Zecora for help. However, as time goes by, he starts developing feelings for his savior and starts to wonder, "is it possible for a changeling to fall in love?" and if so "Would she return his love if she only knew the truth?"
