On a dark night filled with even darker magics, an insane cult attempts to give Nightmare Moon a body and life of her own, utterly separate from Princess Luna. But, when the spell is interrupted by Celestia, something unexpected is created.

Now, a little black alicorn filly named Nyx finds herself living under the care of Twilight Sparkle, only to be haunted by memories and emotions from her past. Is she Nightmare Moon reborn or is she simply a doppelganger with a soul and mind of her own? Can Twilight Sparkle protect Nyx from those who refuse to see past her dragon eyes and black coat?

Or, will Nyx be forced to inherit the sins that may not even be hers and become the greatest evil Equestria has ever known?

When a school project on "Princess Appreciation Day" comes up. Applejack's son "Bloomburg" works with his friends on a project to impress a filly in a class. But bad things happen when Bloomburg's younger twin sisters "Apple Heart" and "Apple Sweets" decide to "help".

With the time for her mothers party drawing near, Cotton Candy is trying desperately to bake her a special birthday cake. But the problem is that she can't bake to save her life. As time starts to run out and she begins to give up hope of making it in time, will a special friend be able to help her achieve her goal?

Fluttershy, feeling that motherly need, secures herself a mail order orphan. Will she be up for the challenge of mothering one of Equestria's most unique creatures that defies classification or description? Will her friends be there for her as they always have? And what about Discord, Fluttershy's long time friend and the one indirectly responsible for all of this confusion... Will he find something that he wasn't aware he was looking for? Will Spike finally find somebody he can relate to? All of this and more...

An important note. The stories in the sidebar all tie in with this story, providing background elements and filling in characters and settings. Reading those will cause a number of things to make a lot more sense.

This is mostly going to be a slice of life story, with elements of fitting in, finding your place in the world, and the need for unconditional positive regard.

This takes place in an alternate verse, at some point in the near future. It is going to start out rated "E" for everyone, but might get some interesting humour in there later, which may require a "T" rating. We'll see. Tags will be added as the story progresses.

Symphony's father a donkey, her mother a horse, making her a mule. Mules are nearly all infertile with the slightest chance of being able to conceive a foal. For this reason, there are hardly any mules in Equestria. Sweet Symphony is one of few and school is a tough place where the different are shunned.

After being teased day in and day out, she can finally take it no more and decides to run away to find more of her kind to finally end the bullying.
