Starlight Glimmer is quitting her job as school counselor to travel Equestria performing magic shows with Trixie. She really wasn't expecting to have such a big going away party, but she's thrilled to see how many people are there to support her. Twilight invites members of the audience to talk about Starlight... and then the fun really begins.

Sadly, Chrysalis is not invisible. Not even close.

Pinkie Pie has a decent life, all things considered. Working at Sugarcube Corner, throwing parties, saving the world, making friends. She had a pretty good run. But when she comes face to face with the Grim Reaper and her own demise, she definitely doesn't want to let go. So she does the only thing she knows to do to avoid death itself, and challenges him to a game for her life.

After a shipment of bootleg puppies arrives in Ponyville, only one mare can stop them before they overwhelm the blooming puppy market. By punting them skywards.

It makes sense in context.
