Twilight Sparkle and her friends are snowed into the library one evening, and they happen upon that rarest of specimens - a book Twilight doesn't recognise. However, the ancient tale of adventure and intrigue they find inside ends up shattering their worldview and sending them on an adventure of their own.

This is basically what came to my mind when I heard that Lauren Faust's original concept for the show was of a more arc-based, magical girl style (this turned out not to be true, but my mind ran with it anyway), but this story ended up a long way from magical girls and well into high fantasy by the time I started writing. Also draws on select Homestuck and Dungeons & Dragons themes, and plays with a lot of things the canon leaves unexplained.

Tag update: Reduced character tags to Mane 6, CMC, Twilight Sparkle and Rainbow Dash. While the Mane 6 and CMC provide most of the ensemble cast, Twilight Sparkle and Rainbow Dash are the primary viewpoint characters.

First Displaced Fic, hope you enjoy.

Flancy Mernin didn't really think that tampering with those artifacts(at least not too much) was a good idea. Maybe drawing on them is what set them off? Or was it using them as gallbladder content jugs? Or maybe trying to fuse them together for fun?
But whichever one of those it was, it still made the artifacts go totally batshit crazy enough to unleash whatever magical powers they had on the eight of them,sending them straight(Yet kinda wiggly, too?) to the place where brightly colored hoofbeasts were one of many top civilizations. Reaper, of course, in his snooty, navy blue blood way, didn't like this idea. The others seemed a bit bothered by it, too, though not as much. Besides, think of all the havoc...er, fun that could happen!

I do not own MLP: FIM or its characters, nor do I own Homestuck.
As of currently, I do not yet have an editor, and anyone who would like to take on that role can!

I am not likely to ever get back to this as I, whilst spending time pretty much ignoring this story, have found several flaws in the characters and plotline. This means that the story, if I ever get back to it, will have some serious reworking and rewriting.

This story is a sequel to Horsetangled: Act 0

In a quiet little universe, just the other side of the line dividing the silly from the serious, a dumb purple horse caused the apocalypse.

The good news is, she's gonna make a new universe to replace the one she broke. With the help of Sunbutt, Moonbutt, and Candybutt, she's gonna finish this strange and confusing game and build a better world.

Meanwhile, two green horses run an entirely unrelated battle against a bunch of evil wolves. This will obviously never be plot-relevant.

Contains complications on a level beyond even the stupidest of Homestuck plots.

Scattered all over Equestria and possibly even farther than their land, there are mysterious and legendary caves that contain statues and carvings of a mysterious species that nopony truly knows about, the mysterious species were dubbed as the 'Alternians'. Historians and scientists have been researching about these caves along with the Alternians for thousands of years starting back when Starswirl the Bearded trotted amongst the land with the young Alicorn sisters by his side and discovered the first cave.

There are rumors that there are twelve caves in total but so far only six have been discovered. It was by luck that Fluttershy and Zecora found the cave within the Everfree forest, but this cave was very different and very special compared to the other caves for it held crucial clues that may just answer questions that dated back to even before one thousand years ago...

Getting sent to Equestria years, and I mean years back before the show started is not the day nor future I pictured spending time at a con with my best friend. Who is notably stuck with me. At least I'm not alone, and I'm glad that we're both practically immortal.

I think I know why most Displaced get stoned like Discord, but for us? No, that wasn't the way to go. Getting turned to stone does not sound fun, so... instead of that, we did one other thing.

We fucked with Equestrian history. Hey, we were bored and wanted to mess with ponies the long way not to mention re-tell our favorite comic's story in a more dramatic and more mysterious way, took a long time but we did it and remained mysterious for thousands of years pretty impressive if I do say so myself.

Our names don't matter and we won't tell you, but I am now The Handmaid and my best friend's The Psiioniic. Together, we corrupted Equestria and weaved myths and stories into their culture about a species that didn't even exist in our world. Equestria didn't know what hit them. But frankly, even with the thousands of years of wisdom and experience and utter insanity that was my best friend and I, both Psii and I, we didn't know what hit us either. I guess this was the universe's way of payback for turning the whole of Equestria and possibly beyond into Homestuck fans.

For some inexplicable reason, Sollux Captor from the Homestuck Universe winds up magically bound to Rarity's back and incapable of coming off. Now it's up to Rarity's friends to find a way to separate the two and get Sollux back home, before they do something that they might regret. Like, say, becoming close friends.

Lyra convinces her niece and her niece's friends to try out a campaign of DnD.

This is a story about a journey across time, space, and some other strange dimensions that I don't have time to go into right now. It is a story of six... no, wait, eleven... no, it's... it's a story about quite a lot of ponies, let's put it that way. It is a story about those ponies, and the trials they face, the friendships they form, the pumpkins they ignore for no discernible reason. It is a story of betrayal, of hope, and all the cliché things that really good stories are made of. But for now, it is none of that. As far as we are concerned, this is a story about a young filly and her friends, and a game they play together...

Something has happened to Equestria. Once a land of love and tolerance, it has been reduced to violence and tyranny.

Twilight Sparkle is the only pony who can remember how the world used to be. Even her former friends can't recall the time they spent together. All they know is distrust and hate.

And so Twilight began to spread her tale, in hopes that somepony would be reminded of the way things used to be. Unfortunately, her claims prove to be a threat to the existing social structures, and she attracts the attention of her former mentor.

I'm aware the story seems incomplete. I have no intention of continuing it at the moment.
