Twilight is a mare of many trades. She prides herself on control, ambition and building solid friendships with those around her. A hero and a princess at the same time. Perhaps one of the greatest mares to ever live.

But when a fleeting crush returns on a certain mare, Twilight finds herself in a difficult emotional position. Especially when said crush is on somepony that she's known all her life but could never truly have. Somepony that's given her everything she could have dreamed of and more. Alas she knows it is not to be.

It would be improper. It would be wrong. It would be...unacceptable.......Or would it?

Wrote this after dealing with illness for a few days. My first Twilestia story. Probably one of the more emotional and fun ships I see out there and one of my favourites. My third foray into a romance fic.

Criticism is appreciated.

Princess Celestia of Equestria is feeling heavy with sadness and regrets, Cadence's wedding seems to have stirred up the Alicorn's heart and she needs comfort...Luckily our favorite Magic school Student is close at hoof!

Twilight loves Celestia, though she had never had the courage to tell her until today. But it seems that forces have aligned to prevent her from being with the one she loves. Twilight fights against all odds to deliver the letter she had struggled so long to write. However, it may turn out that neither she, nor Celestia could possibly be ready for the consequences of their relationship.
Because being immortal does not mean being invincible. And a Princess is no more immune to pain than a pauper.
... especially in matters of the heart.

Twilight has something she needs to tell Princess Celestia--something that means a chance at getting everything she's ever wanted, or of losing everything she's ever had.

Something so terrifying that the only way she could say it was in a letter...and so wonderful that she had the courage to send it.

Princess Celestia has had feelings for her faithful student for some time that go beyond a scholastic admiration. Imagine her sorrowful surprise when she receives a letter from Twilight detailing her foray into the world of romantic relationships, one that takes a sharp down-turn for the worse. It's up to Twilight's long-time mentor and friend to repair the anguish brought upon by a careless and, for all intents and purposes, faceless colt, who was too daft to appreciate somepony the princess would give anything to be with.

(Though tagged "sad", it's not that much. It's certainly a little sarcastic at times, though I wouldn't call it "comedy" per say.)

What happened to the princess? What is Luna up to? Why do I sound like the narrator to a bad crime drama?
