A Twin Canterlots story—conclusion of Brass Ring

Warning tag refers to an attempt and aftermath.

Rose Brass, retired army captain, has found a second career as a youth social worker. She has a tough attitude, experience, and a security clearance. Naturally she’s the perfect expert for Sunset Shimmer to consult after Wallflower Blush fails to show up for graduation.

A collaboration with Scampy. Thanks to I-A-M for additional assistance.

Begins immediately after graduation from CHS and ends with the start of Virga—latter half of season seven.

Hit “Popular Stories” and non-M feature box within an hour of publication and the all-ratings feature box 2 August 2020! Huzzah!

One is in a wing of the rebuilt Ceremonial Palace, made over for the purpose. The other is on the Campus.

This story is a sequel to Mister Cook Goes to Canterlot

A Twin Canterlots story—last in Cook’s Tour; followed by Virga

Cook, that’s the fanciest—and stuffiest—restaurant around here!” Sunset looked and sounded aghast. “What’ll I wear?”
I let my eyebrows rise. “This from one of the girls who magic up spiffy new ensembles every few weeks?”
By rights her glare should have reduced me to cinders. “That’s different and you know it. This isn’t even like a Rainbooms gig, where I can get away with something outrageous. Whatever it is must be pretty serious or you wouldn’t be so insistent—and evasive; don’t think I haven’t noticed.”
When I simply shrugged, she sighed in resignation. “Fine. I’ll talk to Rarity and see what we can come up with on my pitiful budget.”

Takes place during winter break of senior year—middle of season 6.

Many thanks to FanOfMostEverything for both the original inspiration and for kind (and correct) promotional words.

Hit “Popular Stories” the day of publication, woo-hoo!

This story is a sequel to Three-act Play

Warning tags refer to scenes of warfare written for a teen audience.

Sunset paused on the high balcony of Princess Twilight’s empty tower, catching her breath after all those stairs. Everypony was away setting up the Friendship Festival; the journal had been buzzing almost constantly with Twilight’s hastily scribbled one-line updates, ecstatic and anxious—until a couple of hours ago. The longer the sudden silence lasted, the more concerned Sunset became, until she hopped through the portal to see what was up. Her alicorn glowed as she fiddled Twi’s telescope into position for a look at the distant city clinging to the mountainside.

Canterlot was burning.

Takes place after CHS graduation—between seasons seven and eight.

A Twin Canterlots story—third in the Brass Ring series
