Friendship is Card Games: Kenbucky Roller Derby #2 & #3

We return to the cutthroat world of G5 roller derby, where Sunny’s trying her darndest to prove she’s more than just a casual skater… and has assembled one of the most ragtag teams of misfits this side of the Mighty Ducks in the process. Let’s see how the story’s developed from there.

No, not mine. The Barcast's. The last call is currently under way, and if you want to hear my part in the grand interview lightning round, you can tune in at 4:20 Eastern/1:20 Pacific (about an hour from this posting.)

Yes, 4:20 on 4/20. No, I do not partake. Sorry to disappoint. :derpytongue2:

    Pest List

Just something I whipped together for fun one day, set to a possibly recognizable tune, all intended in good fun. And hey, given that I derived my Fimfic handle from a misremembered detail of the Mikado, it's only appropriate. :derpytongue2:

Friendship is Card Games: d20 Pony, Ch. 9, Pt. 1

Goodness, it’s been almost two years since I last checked in on Trailblazer’s adventures. IDW putting out comics almost as quickly as I could review them will do that, especially given all of the G5 video media coming out concurrently.

    Conflicted Crossroads

I have an interesting dilemma with an upcoming story, and thus I turn to the Fimfic public (or that portion of it that sees these blogs) for its wisdom.

Dave Bryant is a fascinating and woefully underread author here on Fimfiction. He writes from angles I see few if any other people explore: the social worker assigned to the disempowered sirens, Equestrian worldbuilding that picks a time period and sticks with it, and perhaps most intriguingly, diplomatic exchanges between the human and equine worlds based on how actual modern diplomacy works.

This brings us to Cookie Pusher, the poor sod who acts as the face of the Redactedstani* government to both the Humane Seven and Equestria as a whole. (The events of "Movie Magic" did not make his job any easier.) He has just begun a holiday journey to Equestrian Canterlot for some cultural exchange, and what happens to him there can be up to you.

Mister Cook Goes to Canterlot isn't quite comment-driven, but it's certainly comment-navigated. If I've piqued your interest, I suggest you give it a look.

*The name of the nation is never mentioned, for all that it's based on the US. Also, GhostOfHeraclitus is the only person on the site I know of who portrays government work more compellingly or sympathetically than Dave does, and he has more interesting base material to work with.

Good, I'm glad to see someone else spotlighting Bryant. :)

I am intrigued.

I have now gone on bookmarking rampage through the timeline leading up to Mr Cook Goes to Canterlot.

Keep it up FOME and I might start thinking you're a swell guy.

Oh hey, he wrote The Farmer in the Dell way back when! Yeah, he always did good work, but quiet work. I thought he'd up and left and yet here he is. Good looking out, FOME, I've got this guy on my radar now.

Thank you so much for the glowing recommendation! I am positively blushing. It seems to be working, too!

And I probably should check out GhostOfHeraclitus.

For the glory of Arstotz—Redactedstan! :)

Also, you keep saying nice things like that and it'll all go to my head, I swear.

Nah, the man's a complete wazzock. :trollestia:

(If you like stories of protagonist bureaucrats, you'll find Whom the Princesses Would Destroy... likely to be to your liking. Well you will if you can bear my writing at any rate. Also the rest of the Civil Service series which is... honestly, a great majority of what I've written.)

I've not read your stuff but I have read the recommended story and I think it is lovely.

Dang, that's some good stuff. Adding him to my plug post upcoming.

We must make Redactedstan a meme. Yus.

Thanks so much for the wonderful compliment!

I am intrigued. Consider yourself stalked.

Glad I could bring more attention to him.

I mean, I'm not Khârn the Betrayer levels of swell guy, but I try.

Good to hear! I might as well use my inexplicable, infinitesimal fragment of horsefame for good.

I deny any and all allegations that this was an attempt to get Cookie Pusher and Dotted Line to cross paths. Such accusations are entirely unfounded and frankly insulting.
