It's not every day you wake up in another country after drinking your weight in Bahama Mamas at an Applebee's in South Dakota; it's not every day you wake up in Equestria, either. But Mego Mars has experienced both, and is about to have the adventure of his life trying to figure out how one led to the other. The kicker? He's suddenly a horse. And not just any horse; a little green girl horse. This isn't how the great adventure movie usually starts, is it?!

Written for Sparktail's AnonFilly contest, which had to focus on AnonFilly, a character I've never really heard of! But the fun thing is that 'AnonFilly' can really be anyone (so long as she's grumpy), and I liked the idea of a cute little pony actually being a big burly trucker doing his best to save Equestria!

One evening, Applejack gives refuge to a stranger whose very voice sends shivers up her spine. He is a self-proclaimed storyteller who has a tale of woe for the Apple family. And later that evening, blood is spilled. Can Applejack figure out his intentions? Or is it already too late?

Written for the Halloween in April horror contest with The Barcast.

When Twilight Velvet went into labor with her son Shining Armor, it was two and a half months too soon. Her husband began to pick up ten hour shifts at work to try and pay the hospital bills. After being in the NICU for a long time, Shining was at last declared well enough to go home, but still needed tubes to help him eat and breathe. Twilight Velvet stays with him day and night, never leaving home.

But she knows that someday, they'll both be on the other side of the window.

One night, Twilight notices something odd as she's nestled in bed with Rarity: her hair smells different, just slightly. The next morning, her tea tastes a little bit less sweet, and the flowers outside smell somewhat less fragrant. Out at a cafe together, the music doesn't sound as sharp and clear, and Rarity's new dress feels marginally less smooth against her coat.

Twilight just wants to know what's happening, so she can fix it. It has to be temporary, after all.

Written for the Quills and Sofa Speedwriting group contest with the prompt "How will I break the news to you?"

Given that it's a period of unusual quiet it's decided that a nice lunch is in order.

This was the plan. Then the group sees Julian, local human doing something strange.

Twilight is baffled.

Straight To The Point Studios did this one, too! For some reason.

The following is my anthology collection of oneshots and other scraps that wouldn't merit their own release. Not all of it will be up to my usual editing standard, though some of it might be. Here are the contest entries, the oneshots I abandoned, or just didn't think warranted a cover and a proper release. I've always been more about long-form fiction, but the shorter stuff has to go somewhere.

Consider each chapter to be independent, and seeing something here is effectively a guarantee there won't be any more of that thing. Context for each section in their authors' notes.

Cover by Zutcha.

Sometimes unexpected mishaps occur; sometimes you leave your saddlebag at home, sometimes a faucet breaks, sometimes you lose the keys to the front door.

Sometimes a small star appears in your bedroom.

Fortunately for Celestia, whereas the rest of you would be apocalyptically out of luck, she has Luna.

Unfortunately for her, that means talking to Luna.

Simple, they turn to magic instead.

I am a God. A being of ideas and shadow and madness. I can shape the world to my whim.

Why, then, am I suddenly a pony? And how quickly can I leave?

When Luster Dawn tries to cast a spell to impress Princess Twilight, it goes awry, and she finds her self cast into an alternate Equestria that is both colorful and terrifying. An Equestria where Canterlot stretches beyond the horizon and the mountain itself has become a castle.

Now she needs to find a way home with her terrible social skills, and the only ones capable of helping her are a strange, gigantic bird and a grumpy, elderly sorcerer stallion.
