I'll definitely have to read this tomorrow; I'm too exhausted right now to enjoy this properly.:facehoof:

Not going to space it out?

Here we go!:twistnerd:

I love the Oz reference.

pretty cool man! the only way it would be better would be if dash was flying a raptor

2619120 Cept she's navy, so that wouldn't happen.

*Grins and applauds* Very cool fun. Nice stuff as always T

Once again a really fascinating look at Rainbow Dash the Navy pilot.

So awesome! :rainbowdetermined2:

I really enjoyed this. Not only was it a fun read, but its cool to see something a bit different from the normal human/pony crossovers.

However, the inner tech geek in me is going a bit nuts.
Rainbow shouldn't have been shot down quite that easily, or at the very least she should have known it was coming. Her RWR would have been screaming that she's been spiked as soon as the F-22 got radar lock, and she also should have had a missile launch warning. As soon as that warning went off the CMS would be dumping chaff and flares left and right, and considering that AMRAAMs have only a 46% successful hit rate on 1g strafe targets, it seems a little odd that Rainbow got hit. And not to mention, the fact that the F-22 that fired the shot didn't get a buddy spike on the other 22 is quite an impressive feat.

Also, Rainbow should have fired one of her slammers on that first shot, not the sidewinder. If the target is a mere spec, its almost past visual range meaning that it is far beyond the 22Nm range of sidewinders.

Okay, /end geek rant. :twilightsheepish:

Like I said though, I really like this. And the problems that I outlined above are minor technical errors, so it really doesn't make that big of a deal.

As a side note, this is now the second story of yours that has given me an idea of my own. Thanks!

2715781 Well, if it was my fault you got an idea, do you need help working on it?

Not currently, but if you want to help edit it once its done that would be awesome!

"Air to mud missions"
This is why I love fighter pilots.

This is going to get hairy.
Some pun intended

Interesting you chose the F-16xl for the EAF! I was very interested in that airframe for some time. Unfortunately it never made production. That would have allowed the use of the General Electric F-100 series engines that would have given that particular frame ungodly powers! Wiki said the two seater that NASA used did get the GE F-100-129 installed and "accidentally" hit super cruise way ahead of its time (1988)! Its only now with the F-22 that we see this kind of performance. Good fun writing!

Whoops! Error! You used the term "delta " . I misunderstood and thought it was the delta configuration wing. You were simply stating the "D" model type. Got my retirement ride in that one!
