Every Valentines day, Princess Celestia takes Twilight and Spike to a secret dining room where they can have one night a year as an actual family, and illuminate the many forms love can take between individuals.

note: this was written back in February of 2011, and large sections of canon has outdated most of this fic. also, this was my first piece of writing in a long while at the time so I realize I made several stylistic and grammatical mistakes throughout. As such I really don't want any in depth criticism about my composition on this fic. I might come back and clean it up, I might not.

I like it, although I can see how it is outdated. Still, I like it.

Even with some outdated info it was still a lovely story.

side story maybe? idk
still love this story though thanks :twilightsmile:

It still works pretty well as an 'alternate universe' variant - an interesting one at that.

Well now... this is a very interesting and grabbing story. Made even more interesting when the second chapter/back story is read.

Short, but very interesting indeed... very, VERY interesting.

I love the premise. :twilightblush:
Hopefully one day you will expand on it :twilightsmile:

"She's the closest thing to a mother I've ever had."

Erm... Twilight actually HAS a mother you know. :rainbowhuh:

maybe you could have celestia tell her? for a chapter:
it would be interestiing :ajbemused::ajbemused::ajbemused::ajbemused:

Reading Season 1 fanfics is always interesting, back when the shows lore was so undefined that everyone had their own interpretation of it. I kind of miss those days.

Fun fact, if you take the comics as canon, then it's true that Spike and Twilight have always been bound through reincarnation. It's even implied that Spike lead an ancient version of the Elements of Harmony at one point.

this is beautiful considering that we are talking about the first season it makes a lot of sense v:
