Ponyville is not Canterlot, and a Ponyville Hearth's Warming is a far cry from a Canterlot Hearth's Warming.
Twilight thought she understood this when her first holiday season in the village rolled around, but the physical reality of it still hit her harder than expected.
It'll take discovering someone with an even greater gap in holiday expectations to break her out of her weltschmerz.

Glad you enjoyed it! It was a bit outside my usual genre, so I hope I hit the mark.

It did at that.
a neat little story
I'm curious to what those cookies are like or are they entirely fictitious?

Technically, they do exist!
They're the ones in the cover art. They're actually called berlinerkranser, but "Pfer" is German for "horse" so I saw the opportunity to make a pun.

alrighty, thanks
Added to my holiday favorite shelf.
Twilight feeling homesick and what I tend to call "new kid syndrome" are very much things I have some experience with.
As to Scootaloo, this makes me want to figuratively punch her parents all the more than I already did. No one should be forced to spend the holidays alone especially a child.
Super cute little story! Thank you for writing it!
A couple corrections for your lovely enheartening fic!
