Average brony obsessing over the main cast with an unhealthy desire to see them in a dark fantasy setting.

In the year 2221 on January 10th, Celestia has come to Luna with a mission package, one she believes is necessary to keep the country safe. Opposing forces have been building up new technology and Celestia worries that they finally may have come to the point where new technology can match the power of the ancient alicorns. However, the relationship between Celestia and her family members has been rocky as of late. She only hopes that their differences can be put aside for the sake of the nation.

An entry in Imposing Sovereigns IV, using the prompt Celestia / Strength.

So Godzilla appears when? Since this already shamelessly stole the bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki and probably a few more things from Japan. Also weird to see Celestia as the paranoid military nutcase. That's usually Luna's job.

I think this is maybe a part of the HoI4: Equestria at War Universe?

I wouldn't know honestly, since I don't read EAW. Would explain why nothing so far is making sense to me.

Kinda. I'm doing a Christmas Bionic Titan story, so you can expect something else next month, but it might only be tangentially related to this.

Otherwise, you can read the original story which is set 50 years later, BT: A New Dawn, and Star Overhead, in which this is the far future of with maybe some continuity errors since this is more based on the Amazon Star Overhead novels than it is the original fan fic I wrote in 2019.

A young stallion has a life changing opportunity dropped him like a crushing giant's hoof.

TStar Overhead
It's easy to think that the sky is falling when a new problem arises. But what do you do when the sky really does fall on your head?

Intriguing, but somewhat disjointed. This one was visibly straining at the word limit. There’s some very interesting meditations on idealistic diplomacy vs. pragmatic defense, but trying to introduce the world, the history, the disaster, the response…

Again, without the context of the other stories in the setting, it comes across as disjointed. There isn’t enough room for enough connective tissue. Still, a good collection of hard choices, difficult dilemmas, and horrific consequences. Thank you for it and best of luck in the judging.

When you say 'connective tissue' what do you mean exactly? I'm planning on continuing this next month with another story.

The transitions between some scenes are very abrupt, and in some cases scenes are completely missing. Most notable is the actual attack on Canterlot. I assume that one's already been covered in another story, but it still feels very strange to have such a monumental, world-defining event mostly shown through oblique conversational references and archival footage.

I see. I'll have to think about where I might put that in. It's not in the other story but treated more like a legend going forward. the power of titans is demonstrated elsewhere, so the fact that a Luna took one down on her own becomes the focus of history more than anything else.
