End of Day Report - October 14th
We cleared out the wraiths hanging around the main gate with Lieutenant Windform; the Lt. said she heard some of the wraiths sounding like their old selves again, made me promise to detain her if she started having second thoughts about protocol. Recommend re-evaluating Windform’s condition for active duty.
End of Day Report - October 15th
Found a filly stuck in the debris of the old royal barbershop just outside the palace walls. Captain Brazen Bell directed the excavation efforts. Lt. Windform was given command of the perimeter while the Captain’s detachment dug her out. They found the kid’s parents completely crushed along with a couple of corpses that look like they might have turned into wraiths. No indication of what caused the collapse.
End of Day Report - October 16th
Corporal Crystal Lens had to leave her shift early on account of a splitting headache and nausea. Lt. Windform ordered her down to the infirmary for a checkup and bed rest. East wall patrol was uneventful. The Lieutenant saved my life today while we were clearing out wraiths from in front of the main gate again today, but she got a chunk taken out of her side. She says the wound isn’t deep and her blue fur looks striking with the red gash.

She would have understood. I put in a request for psychological re-evaluation and asked to see the resident psychologist, but my recommendation for Windform hasn’t even gone through yet.
I was given the rest of the day off to recover. I have a screening for potential infection tomorrow.
End of Day Report - October 18th
Screening came back clear. I returned to active duty today. Lt. Windform put in a request for more guards, our squad is starting to dwindle. Princess Celestia made a rare appearance today, reassuring everypony taking refuge in the palace. Doctors and mages are still working on a cure for the color plague. Otherwise, patrols were mostly quiet today. Our one foray into the city caused a lot of wraiths to follow us. I think Lieutenant Windform’s recent wound might be attracting them.
End of Day Report - October 19th
Lt. Windform’s wound has definitely been attracting more wraiths than would usually find us. Short trip into the city caused us to be completely surrounded in under an hour. The nine of us never stood a chance, but they mostly focused on the Lt. She told us to run and lead them around the walls of the palace. We were about to disobey her order and follow when we saw one of the wraiths come out of the alley.
It had been the Element Bearer of Honesty, Applejack. The Lt. got most of their attention, and the one that had been Applejack went after her too, but we still lost Gear Grinder on the way to the Western Gate. The rest of us made it inside. There’s been no word from the Lieutenant since she pulled the wraiths off us.
End of Day Report - October 20th
One of the other patrols found the body of Lt. Windform. The wraith of Applejack was hanging around her corpse earlier in the day but then left and started moaning and screeching at the main gates. No one knew how to respond so we just let it be until it left. Windform’s body was brought back into the palace grounds and she was posthumously promoted to Major and the service is tomorrow.
End of Day Report - October 21st
The ceremony for Major Windform was nice. Celestia raised the sun nice and early and the skies were miraculously clear, even with no pegasi to keep it that way. After the service, duty resumed and we went for another mission into the city. We found a building with some heavily barricaded doors and found a pair of dead fillies. The corpses were a few days old, but they hadn’t been infected before death. In the last room we found…
I am hereby reporting that The Element Bearer of the Element of Honesty, Miss Applejack has passed on. She seemed to have succumbed to the color plague, but a journal was found detailing her symptoms and travels, which will be attached to this report.
The building she was found in was burned, to destroy the evidence surrounding her death and preserve the image many had for her. With the information found in her writings we assume the other Element Bearers are also dead. The Princesses have been notified. Princess Celestia hasn’t come out of her room yet. Princess Luna left early in the evening, refusing any sort of escort. She flew high until she couldn’t be seen against the night sky, but all the guards and remaining civilians knew she was heading to Ponyville.
Our last hope is gone. We have nothing to strive for anymore.

I love stories written from the "other" perspective, and this one didn't disappoint.
Not gonna lie, at first I thought AJ's connection to the Element and therefore Harmony was somehow severed and that caused only her friends and family to behave that way, I didn't actually believe it was a real plague involved.But good story nonetheless

Well to be fair since this is a zombie apocalypse I think and the fact that you need a full set of elements to even fire off The Elements of Harmony although I highly doubt that would even kill any of these zombies and since Princess Luna's acting weird and Celestia has not come out of her room I'm pretty sure bad things are happening or are going to happen if the story were to be continued yeah they're definitely deeply screwed
