Hey man. Yes, Dan did a really good job on the cover. It was worth the wait. I had to resize it to death to get it under the limit which is frustrating because you can't read the small print.
"If you can't stand the heat,
Get out of the kitchenDie!" I really liked that. That was all Daniel ad-libbing.
and then the B-movie JMJ productions, etc. He had a really good idea. I like how the trees of the forest are knives on one side.
Kind of rushed the opening chapter a little with the Past Tense, Perfect News stuff but I think it's okay. Gonna have to tie it in. Got dizzy/traps pain while typing it so I'm not back to writing shape yet.
Okay, I can't believe this has so many downvotes. It's got a ton of good build-up and I can't wait to see what awaits this creepy duo next.
Honestly, the chipperness these two have is what adds to how freaky they are.

I remember looking at the draft you were writing for this awhile ago, but I never got around to reading it through all the way.

Don't think so, Captain. Thanks for judging a book by the cover but this is a story of love and redemption set in the extended Cupcakes-verse. I'm not saying there's not death in the story but it's alluded to or needed to tell the story I want to tell. So far there has only been one death and it sets up the second act of the story.
There is talk of cannibalism and acts of murder but, it is set in the universe of Cupcakes. Cozy has not actually witnessed any cannibalism. Neither has Pinkamena indulged in such an act. And despite all the bravado and musings of Pinkamena in order to elicit certain behaviors, there have been no attestable scenes of torture or mutilation.
Again, not saying that it didn't happen in the past of the story but this is no longer the blood-crazed murderess from Cupcakes. This is a miserable, old mare who hates herself for the things she has done and Cozy, the young mirror of giving in to evil desires. This is her attempt to reform Cozy and, perhaps, find some mote of redemption for herself.
But, the cover art is not quite exemplary of their relationship nor the regret she feels. It depicts an obvious scene of cannibalism in reference to the original Cupcakes, b-movies, and Italian giallo films because I thought it would be fun to extrapolate upon the exploitive nature of them. Also, hence the 'Relapse' nomenclature. More homage to the slews of sequels that came out sporting "re-xxx" from the late 90's/early 2000's ... and a hint that the semi-kindly old lady Pinkamena who has battled the monster inside may give in to her own demons in order to protect the thing most important to her.
Sure, it's schlocky but it's schlock based on a premise. It's not Pinkamena and Cozy Glow hacking up ponies for the joy of doing so; it's Pinkamena trying to dissuade Cozy from making similar mistakes to those she has made. If she's lucky, Cozy may still have a happy life before her.
But thanks for going out of your way to trash the story you haven't read.

Why use Cozy? Wouldn't it be better to use Apple Bloom, seeing as she worked with Pinkie in Cupcakes?
10513315 I use Apple Bloom a lot. CMC: Friendship Never Dies, Withering Bloom, The Beyond, etc. Also, It's been a while since I have read Cupcakes but I don't remember Apple Bloom being a character in it other than as a reference to another character, Twist, I think. I read a sequel once with her as an assistant but it wasn't by Sgt. Sprinkles.
I debated using Scootaloo because I absolutely loved the askpinkamenadianepie tumblr back when that was a thing but that duo was planned for Pinkamenace II Society even though I haven't written on that story in forever. Plus, I started a story involving Scootaloo as the main character semi-deifying Pinkamena and wishing she could be like her.
I love Cozy. She's so cute and diabolical. I also thinks she's a little tragic. She meshes well with the version of Pinkamena in this final MFC story. I can't go into much detail but the Pinkamena here is not quite the same as the one in MFC. I mean, she is the same pony but she's had a lot of time to reflect and get her problems under control. One is a semi-reformed monster regretting her life and the other is a young, bitter monster still planning on domination. As she's already said in the story, Pinkamena wants to try and give Cozy a chance at a normal life but will Cozy see the errors she's made before it's too late to go back?
In the end I just thought Pinkie/Cozy would be interesting and tell a better story since much of Cozy's background is unknown.

The fiction story is pretty good. Although, punctuations is what making this story look bad. I started to noticed it in a few chapters and then some. I give this at least a 6.5/10.

This is the legit reason for the first coming of Pinkamena. In MFC she told several stories and they were all lies. She also said Pinkie Pie never existed and it was her putting on a fake smile all along. Not true. She took some brain trauma that crossed her wires and changed her on a fundamental level. So the real question is, when she tells this to Cozy later on, why are there no scars, knots, or wounds to prove that she almost died saving Equestria which led to the coming of Pinkamena? Cozy felt her head and commented she didn't feel anything.
