I am a relatively new brony who wishes to write and read some of the fanfic. I prefer heavy and intricate plots. I despise forcing ships on others. My favorite villain (and hero) is Starlight Glimmer.

Starswirl was the last unicorn to have studied the magic of other worlds. That was over a millenia ago, and still no one had even thought of using magic in another world. At least, no one until Sunset crossed the portal. Disobeying her teacher, she had taken magic to the new world, and found it altered. After being reformed, she tried to understand the world's native magic, but failed. She found it was different. Perhaps she just needed a focal point, and what better focal point than Equestrian magic?

However, not long after the primary test, Sunset discovers that one of her friend’s pasts has been altered, and all memory of them erased. Only she notices anything is wrong and has enough knowledge of both worlds to save her friends.

Now history requires an Editor, and Sunset will have to step up if she is to save her friends.

Curious what happened to change Rainbow's fate. O.O What does she do instead?

verry good story and more responsibility placed on poor sunsets shoulders but it only gets placed ther do to the fact she can handle it

Oh, now this is a fascinating start. Someone's altering history, which implies hat it's someone with a vested interest in the Human world, so unlikely to be of Equestrian origin. Now, I'd imagine Sunset isn't affected by virtue of not being a native to this world, being the owner of the book, or possibly a combination of the two. Two possibilities here for why this was done, if it was done with malicious intent-one, someone is trying to separate them and cut their bonds of friendship and the power that comes with it. Two, someone with a personal vendetta or goals in this world has gotten their hands on a similar book-possibly the one that seemingly went missing-and is changing things to further personal goals or desires.

Interesting...

Oh, and Sunset really shouldn't use that book as a guide to history exams. Not because it's inaccurate, but because it's too accurate: it will have things as they exactly were, not the general consensus of Humanity as to what happened. For example, we're not exactly sure what happened to the lost colony Roanoke (only have theories), but it wouldn't surprise me if this OP history book could tell you exactly what happened. Which, if used on a test, would get a lovely D because that would be more theories rather than factual information taught in a other history books.

But, seriously, this book was over powered. Even if it wasn't some sort of editing tool for history-or at least human memory of history-the fact that it is able to accurately record all of human history when we aren't even sure what exactly happened implies a lot about its ridiculous power. It seems more like a lost powerful artifact created by a legend or deity than a simple spell Twilight would know.

Unless I'm misinterpreting things and over-complicating the hell out of this.. Which I probably am, but where's the fun in not overthinking fictional worlds?:derpytongue2:

I can help edit if-- oh.

Never mind.

That's what I thought too!

I am getting the feeling that Lightning Dust had something to do with it.

This is very interesting so far, and a great start as well! I wonder who is the behind this altering of history :rainbowhuh:

Wait, then how does Pinks remember her? :rainbowhuh:

Definitely watching this though.

7355102 Pinkie knows everyone, even those she shouldn't.... though, really, are you questioning the logic behind Pinkie Pie?

Okay, I'm hooked. I wonder who's altering history and why.

7355239

Yeah, but still, if Pinkie hasn't seen her before, I don't think she'll still know her name, even with Pinkie logic.

In the Pilot, she didn't know Twilight and her first instinct was to plan a party. Yet besides this, she also had to have Twilight introduce herself.

In 'A Friend in Deed', she didn't know Cranky Doodle Donkey, and had to ask for his name.

I don't think even Pinkie can just manage to know somebody's name without them meeting at least one time.

Of course, this is my opinion, and I love this story, anyways! ;)

7355280 The two differences with those two are that they didn't live in the same town or go to the same school. Twilight and Cranky were both out-of-towners, and that was their first day there. She knew everyone else in town like the back of her hand/hoof.

Then again, it's just a matter of head canon, so there's not much point debating it.

Also, glad you're enjoying it.

I wonder if the other person was Starlight Glimmer over in the Equestria Girls world or something? After all, her pony counterpart changed Rainbow's past , and this might be a similar situation or something...Either way, I remain quite curious.

Another amazing chapter you got there, mate! Can't wait for the next.

i'm guessing since it got her name after she became the editor, but someone obviously edited something without their name being there, the other editor got a hold of the first book twilight sent that didn't make it through

Wow. Hast is an utter a-hole. I find it hard to believe that he isn't at least somewhat aware of just how much he's not telling her.

Still, this was a rather exciting chapter-wish I read it when it was first released, but got stuck in the backlog of updates from other stories and only just came back to it again.

Schedule Rainbow Dash a medical exam and get me the files on Fluttershy.

I wonder why she's doing that? :rainbowhuh: Curses! Now I have to wait and see!

Huh. This had gotten burred in a bunch of updates and I wasn't able to get to it till now. Well, the latest chapter was enjoyable, and I can feel Sunset's frustration, although unfortunately they aren't any closer to figuring out who the hell is messing with the past.

Pinkie Pie watches Mad TV, they predicted Equestria Girls a year before it was released...

uh i think you mean vice principle luna this ant the pony world

im guessing lighting dust is the one messing with the past

7747114 Predicted?

Those are just tv tropes that have been around long before Equestria Girls to the point that they were emphasized by a Mad short.

Much like what they did by loading the Grey's anatomy cast with anime references in what's perhaps one of their most bizarre segments, which is saying something.

~Leonzilla

Mate? There's something off with that bolding.

7747335
Are you telling me human Luna isn't a pretty pretty Princess?

In all seriousness, thanks for catching that.

The entire group was quiet at this, each one in the recesses of their minds having had a seed of curiosity planted. What could embarrass Fluttershy?

Uh... you mean everything, right? The girl's got more phobias than Adrian Monk.

“Sunset, you have a note here,” the history teacher said, holding out a piece of paper. “And please, I know it’s Monday, but that’s no reason to fall asleep in my class.”

You know, I find it interesting you have yet to name this teacher, nor give him any descriptions (unless I missed something). I'm beginning to wonder if he's our elusive antagonist.

On another note, I'm guessing that the reason Sunset isn't affected by changes to the past is because she's Equestrian (Not of this World). Either that or Hast had a hand in it, but Princess!Twilight remembered Mirror!Rainbow Dash, so I'm going with my first theory. And while I'm on the subject, I wonder whether the antagonist will attempt to change Sunset's past. Given how she can't tamper with her own story, that would be an ideal way to get rid of her.

Anyways, keep up the good work, mate. I'm enjoying this so far.

Glad to hear you're enjoying the read.

This actually sounds very interesting and thus I will be keeping an eye on this one.

There's an irony in the latest chapter to this story being labeled as unedited.

Technically, yes. I've been trying to write the next chapter but haven't really had the time to develop it in the way that I want. Hopefully in the coming weeks I'll have some time, but for now? Consider it dead.
