They're not Ghosts anymore. Just regular old Green Berets from the 3rd SGF. Although, the Ghosts are literally glorified Green Berets (it says so in the original game's intro). Although I did 'steal' some concepts such as active camo and augmented reality because that stuff is in R&D now. I'm pretty sure it will be usable by 2048.

Could you give specific examples? So far every time there's been combat between ponies and humans it's been pretty one-sided, and I don't believe I have specified whether or not ponies have things like extended life or superior senses.
1712598, I can't fucking believe I'm actually defending ponywank but modern weapons are possibly some of the finest and most destructive tools ever made. If it was modern weapons vs. an unwanked Equestria, well, that's a boring as fuck battle. Yeah, that's how'd it play out in the real world with weapons effective out to hundreds of meters to hundreds of kilometers but it makes a boring story.

Also, when referring to distance in kilometers, the term is "klick". You wrote "click" which means one second of arc, or -- in other words, one inch of distance at one hundred yards (usually in reference to sighting weapons).
1721101 No, an unwanked Equestrian force wouldn't be as steamrolled as you might think. Think. Equestrians would have an unprecedented control over the skies. I mean yes, fighter jets would be untouchable outside of lucky lightning strikes, but aside from that, there are a lot more pegasi than there are jets. Not too mention how much havok magic would wreak. A little creativity in how it's used and Equestria could put up an excellent fight with out being stupidly over wanked. I'm asking for a well-thought out and mostly level battle, not a curbstomp either way.

1) The speech was C&Ped from /mlp/
2) The EI is mostly earth ponies, and trained from early ages*
3) Most are upper 20s, early 30s at the lower ranks*
4) Earth ponies have greater resilience, thus things like life-span and fast healing (as seen in chapter 2)
*medieval-esque military subculture trains kids from early ages to be soldiers
