Twilight,
I’m glad to see you so eager to expand your horizons. Once I teach you a little more about our world and it’s history, I can hardly wait to send you IT or The Dark Tower series (seriously, one of the best series of books I’ve ever read).
I will forewarn you, that we humans do have quite a spotty history at that, so if you’re willing to dive into that, I can lend you some of my history textbooks from last year.
In the meantime, I can swing by the library sometime this weekend and share some other classics with you. I’m sure I’ll find some good stuff for you too, Spike. Speaking of, I did remember the comic book shop this time. I got you some Superman, Batman, Iron Man, and Spider-Man (super creative, right?), just to give you a taste of both DC and Marvel.
Have fun with that. I don’t have anywhere to be tomorrow, so if you want to spend more time writing today, I should be up to do so. See ya’.
Toby
sending her IT? I'm sure THAT scene with the kids would cause some friction with twilight. xD

I just eat up these chapters! Oh, so good, om nom nom, books.
DC is pretty easy-
Get Batman:Year One and Superman:Birthright. Pretty much covers the entire character origin and setup and form. Everything else is tricky, but those two will hit everything you need for Batman and Superman.
Marvel...this is hard.
For Iron Man, all you need is the "Extremis" trade paperback. It covers quite a bit of the origin and the character itself and does it well (IMHO, Warren Ellis CANNOT write a bad comic book short of a horrible premise). The rest are very hit-or-miss at best, and my opinion on "Ironheart" will violate the site's TOS (teal deer-There have been worse ideas. Not many, but there have been worse. This is not a compliment-"Ironheart" is probably the second-worst idea Marvel ever had recently).
Captain American...damn. I like this guy's reading list, but ignore everything "Civil War" and past, and pretty much send "Secret Empire" to the memory hole.
Other characters and stories...if it wasn't for the fact that the Ultimate Universe FOADed by the "Ultimatum" series and ended with "Secret Wars", I'd recommend "Ultimate Spider Man" in it's entirety. Especially how it handled the change-over from Peter Parker to Miles Morales.
Marvel also did a (Hero Name): Season One series of books that were okay. Hit all the major character high notes, at least.
Other comics... "Phoebe and Her Unicorn" is a fun series, and it has UNICORN! "Bone" is another one that has a lot of neat storytelling in it as well.

Yeah, Steven has a real problem with THAT stuff, huh?

Still a better choice than clive barker's Hellbound Heart though. I couldn't stop laughing from the 3rd grade level attempts at being disturbing.
Since I'm tempted to say this: here's what I'd send twilight off my book shelves:
The Dark Elf trilogy (Drizzt may be angsty but I loved the third book)
The complete tales and poems of Edgar Allan Poe (with Masque of the Red Death bookmarked)
Knight of the Black Rose (Ravenloft was SUCH a great dnd idea)
Warhammer 40K: Flight of the Eisenstein (because fuck hope)
Any of my HP Lovecraft books. Color out of Space, Whisperer in Darkness, Dunwich Horror, and the Outsider being recommended.
Meditations by Marcus Aurelius because its good, and because Twilight would sperg out about a book 2000 years old.
The 48 Laws of Power, it might seem a very duplicitous book but it has good advice that would be at odds with Twilight's normal POV, which would provoke some interesting discussion.
I remember a batman comic review one where batman and cat woman got busy and one of the reviewers said and I quote
I am seriously waiting for the day that he ships himself in a box to equestria or twilight to do that....
however would that be a whole different story then? If this fic finishes some time soon can you make that a sequel?

It’s seldom I hear someone say Sojourn is their favorite in the prequel trilogy. Homeland is mostly a ‘fun’ exploration of drow society, and Exile still gives me the feels when I think about Zak or Clacker. I mean, Clacker was a pech, so I get where the wizard was coming from, but still...
Also you didn’t mention The Shadow Over Innsmouth, and no HPL collection is complete without the Innsmouth look.

Hm, fair enough. Innsmouth is great, and if I had to continue adding to the list Rats in the Walls would be there too. Pickman's Model is a personal favorite of mine. I just didn't want to list more than I did.
And yeah, I liked Sojourn best. Probably because it was where Drizzt stepped into the bright new world that he'd barely seen and wanted to be a part of and it just keeps reminds him just how hated the drow are. I read a few books beyond that but it was hard to keep up. I will say, Exile's delve into the workings of a mind flayer city was intriguing.
Fiction...
You can't go wrong with Henlein juvenile books. Fairly simple, perhaps, but they are still good reads, even to this day.
Harry Potter is another good choice and the series is out in paperback.
For something a bit more adult...hm. For science fiction, I'd see about getting a copy of On Basilisk Station and With The Lightnings, as they start out their respective series full of wonder and adventure.
And, DO NOT try to mail yourself through the postal system to Equestria. Not without doing some tests first, and especially if you weigh over 70 lbs, including packaging. And, especially if you consider yourself fragile and/or easily damaged in transit.

I mean, it's not as if USPS is the one doing the interdimensional transport.
I wonder what he'll get into as a comic fan...
