Once there was a pony who sat down and wrote a story. He read over the story, and he liked it, so he sent it out for the world to see. The world, however, did not like this pony's story. Many bashed him, and many laid out in no uncertain terms all that was flawed about his work. At first this pony was sad, but then this pony decided that he was perfect the way he was, like other ponies had told him in school.

So this pony continued to write. This pony looked out to those who read his work and told them "I will not improve, and you cannot make me." This pony looked at his work and he liked it, so he posted it up. There were other ponies who saw what he posted and loved it, but their voices always mingled with those who called for an improvement; a change. Those ponies were branded as haters and trolls and mean spirits, and their voices were pushed aside. For this pony had decided that he was perfect the way he was, and that there was no need for change.

And as this pony moved on with his life, he took to heart his belief that he was perfect the way he was. He never changed, and the voices that called for change were blocked until all he could hear was praise. And this pony believed he was happy.

One day, a young mare saw the stories of this pony, and what he believed about his work, and she sighed in sadness. And she knew her voice would only be blocked, as many others had been, but she still opened her mouth and she spoke.

"If all you post is good, and you do not wish to improve, are you saying that you never wish to know what it is like to be great? To wipe the frustration away and know that all of your soul has been placed into one singular achievement, and to know that what you have done is more than good? Do you not wish to be happy in achievement?"

And she too was silenced. Because the pony knew he was good. And others cried out that he was good. And he was happy with his complacency.

Oh my gosh... Permission to post that as an actual fic?

4946299 Hmm, I might actually expand upon this and post it. It sadly applies to so many others too. :ajsleepy:

I would give that fic a like. Beats out any of the stories by the people it's aimed at.

That is the best thing I have ever read... It's so beautiful. Way better than the 143 stories he posted.

WHY DOES EVERY COMMENT HAVE A DISLIKE!? :flutterrage::flutterrage:

4960226

Critics. Whatcha gotta do about it? :ajbemused:

4960254 I thought it was all one guy...

4960254

For starters, you could actually consider listening to those criticisms instead of making excuses and/or ignoring them. Just a thought.

4964470

(sighs, shaking head) :ajbemused: Solid Sun, I told you before. I told everyone. I don't wanna be a good writer. I just wanna be me, that's all,. I am going to move on and not bother with the criticisim, and no one, not Bwaak, Spoiler, the one who wrote the story that's unnecessary, or the last one can make me change my mind otherwise.

4964670

Yeah, I know, and you're still going to get criticized. I just hope the next person who does won't waste their time trying to give you constructive criticism, because it is seriously wasted on someone like you.

4964670 I agree with Solid-Sun. Why don't you "wanna" be a good writer? Why don't you want to improve and be respected? We're not telling you to give up your ideals or anything, we're just saying that you might be happier and people might like your stories more. As it is, some of your fans feel more like enablers than anything.

4965286

Because like I said before, I don't write because I want to be a good writer. I just does so because I want to, I love doing it. Being a good writer isn't important to me, only the fun it is in making my stories. I don't need folks' approval to be happy. Just what I'm used to.

4965301

If you don't want feedback, why are you posting your stuff online?

5003430

Wanting to post something because I want to is one thing. Feedback is another, wise guy. :ajbemused:

5003461 If you post on the internet, you're going to get feedback, it's just inevitable.

5003481

The only feedback he wants are the ones that stroke his ego.

4946216 :ajbemused::ajbemused::ajbemused::ajbemused::ajbemused::ajbemused: That story is totally unnecessary. Big thumbs down.

5110363 And it's perfectly alright for you to feel that way. I hope you enjoy your life.

5110363 That story IS necessary. Have a big juicy thumbs down and an unamused orange pony! :ajbemused:

5110363 It's not unnecessary if it's true. Plus, it doesn't just apply to JusSonic, but a lot of writers and artists out there. Really accurate stuff.
