4679650 Because Celestia both doesn't want further conflict, and she probably doesn't want to let her entire hive suffer just to spite Chrysalis. And at least in this version, Chrysalis isn't stupid enough to turn down the deal.
This possiblely one of the best Chrysalis clopfics I've ever read. Her character in regards to her feelings for Shining, both during and after coitus, really fleshed her out.
Wait what happened to Cadance? I mean, you have Celestia, who is in love with Shining, but gave him to the Changeling Queen in order to keep the peace. You have Chrysalis, who either now owns Shining or at the very least can take him when ever the hell she wants, unless this was a one off deal which seems unlikely. So where the hell is Cadance? Did she just tell Shining to fuck off before they could get married? Was she quietly removed? Are they still married, just with Shining being Chrysalis' pet as well?

Shining Armour and Cadence maintain a healthy, normal marriage and see each other regularly. It's simply the case that I haven't included Cadence in these stories in order to focus on Shining's encounters with those around him in the story.
Cadence will eventually making her own appearence, and I've already got the basis of the plot established. Now it is merely a matter of time.

I read this series and can't help but feel downright depressed for poor Shiny. It's like everything he's done to prepare himself for serving his country has been all but a lie. Hours spent barricaded in his room studying strategy and military history growing up, nope don't need that. Years of grueling physical training committed to turning his body into a well honed weapon for defending Equestria? Mmmm..just look at that toned, muscular figure. Honorable, heart of a warrior, willing to march headlong into danger with unflappable loyalty to his superiors? Hey, least he won't ask too many questions right? We just need a hot stud for the enemy to pin down and hump until they're satisfied enough to just go away. F**king Sunbutt

Amazing! The two stories (the Nightmare Tribute) and now this, are something to behold.
You have a fantastic knack for including a lot of details in both stories to get the reader (such as myself) involved. Everything from Past endeavors, Internal Conflict, actions scenes and even the Celestia epilogue's at the end are in depth.
I enjoyed the direction that you took with the Pony/Changeling Treaty, a very interesting concept in the world that you shaped up, it makes it seem like the power division within nations and races are balanced.
The Shining internal conflict was demonstrated perfectly. From the rumors, past regrets, squadron leader decisions and to the breakdown at the hands of his Nemesis were all amazing.
Overall Awesome
I like were this series is headed.

What??! Celestia would never do that. Cadence is her niece, the ruler of an allied state, the foal-sitter of Twilight Sparkle, her own personal protégée.
Besides, if she was "quietly removed", Twilight and Shining Armor would notice, sooner or later. And when they find out, all hell would break loose, and the shit would flatly hit the fan for Celly. Period.

I do agree with this, Chrysalis to me always seemed to actually seek out Shining armor because he had a lot of love to give, not just because of the wedding being a perfect time to invade (which it was)
If I’m assuming Changelings act a lot like Bees... yeah this makes sense.
