Hear My Voice!

Can You Hear Me Now!?

Written By: Cameron

Inspired by the song: I See Stars--Murder Mitten

If they can't hear me, I'll scream 'till someone answers me!

Celestia's sun slowly presented itself to the dark room. Slowly, it brought the entire room to life. Fluttershy flickered her eyes open. She quickly covered her eyes, as the bright light presented itself to her. She waited until her eyes readjusted to the light. Once they were adjusted, she lowered her hoof and smiled. She got up out of her bed and trotted towards her window. She pushed open the windows and looked out into the horizon. "What a beautiful morning," she said to herself.

The yellow pegasus looked down into the dirt trail and saw her friend, Rainbow Dash, slowly trotting next to her cottage. Fluttershy's smile grew wider. "Good morning, Dashy."

The cyan pegasus didn't respond. Her head drooped low into the dirt, only inches away from the dirt. Fluttershy found it odd, but ignored it. She noticed that her friend seemed to be in a bad mood. Concern started to overwhelm her. She flew out of her window and gently landed next to her pegasus friend. Rainbow Dash did not respond to Fluttershy's presence, but, she did stop in her tracks. "Is something wrong, Dash?"

Rainbow Dash looked to her right and was staring at Fluttershy's cottage. Once Dash turned her head, Fluttershy saw tears streaming down her cheeks. Odd. Fluttershy rarely saw Dash cry. She never cried, unless it was something serious. "Are you okay?" She asked her friend.

The cyan pegasus closed her eyes and prepared herself for take off. But before she flew off, she muttered four words "I love you, Fluttershy."

Then, she took off, within a second. Leaving a rainbow trail and dust flying in the air. Fluttershy watched her pegasus friend take off. "Oh my. Something must really be upsetting her." She started to make her way towards the center of the town. "Maybe Twilight will know."

If something was wrong with one of her friends, it's up to her, and the others, to find out what's wrong with them. Her friends would do the same for her, if something was bothering her. Ever since Twilight became a princess, all of her friends came to her in case if something was wrong. Twilight was a good pony to go to for wisdom. Mainly for the fact that she might have learned it already from her quest on friendship, but still good to go to.

As she made her way through town, she noticed something odd: the town was more quiet. Usually the town was chatty and alive, but, today was quiet and dark. The streets weren't as crowded as they usually are. They were more empty. "Something must be going on," she mumbled to herself.

She stopped in her tracks, as she made it to her destination. She looked at the front door and noticed that the close sign was up. Odd. Twilight loves to keep her doors open, in case if somepony wanted to borrow a book or ask her questions. She walked up to the door and gently twisted the handle. She pushed open the front door and went inside. "Oh my."

The library was very dark. Twilight sat at her desk with a candle lit, all the windows were closed, the curtains hung over them, and sniffling noises could be heard from the alicorn. Fluttershy slowly approached Twilight. She looked at her friend and saw tears streaming down her cheeks. Twilight was sniffling very loudly. A couple of sobs escaped her mouth. Her magic was being used to hold a quill.

Fluttershy was about to place a hoof on her friend's shoulder, but shied away. She looked down at the desk and saw four words written on it: I love you, Fluttershy. After Fluttershy read it, she heard Twilight repeat the words. "Twilight, what's wrong?"

Twilight did not respond, but, instead, she got up from the desk and blew out the candle. The library got darker and Twilight went to the front door and walked out. Fluttershy followed her, but as soon as she stepped outside, she lost sight of her friend. "What's going on with everypony?"

"Fluttershy!" A distant voice called her out.

Fluttershy turned her head, but couldn't find out where it was coming from. She recognized the voice, but couldn't remember who's it was. She started to walk around the town, at a slow pace.

*crumble*

Fluttershy backed up at the sudden noise. She looked down and saw that she stepped on a piece of newspaper that was torn. The title was written in bold letters, but was incomplete: ELEMENT OF KINDNESS N-

That's all she could make out. The rest of the newspaper was elsewhere. "Did I do something wrong?"

"I miss her." A voice said not too far away.

Fluttershy turned around to see Rarity and Pinkie Pie sitting on a table next to Sugar Cube Corner. She saw that both of her friends were both wearing the same gloomy expression as her other friends. Tears stains were visible on their cheeks. She slowly approached them. She had to know what was going on and why everypony was so sad today. Especially, why is everypony ignoring her.

Pinkie Pie looked up at Rarity. "I do too," she said.

Fluttershy stood right next to them. "Who do you miss?"

"I wish I could hear her voice." Rarity said.

"Who's voice." Fluttershy said, calmly, but her patience was starting to run thin.

"You know what I would say to her?"

"Say to her?" Fluttershy asked, a little louder.

"What?" Pinkie Pie asked.

"I love you, Fluttershy." Rarity replied.

"Then, tell me! I'm right here!" Fluttershy cried out.

All of a sudden, Applejack sat down right next to Rarity. Fluttershy looked at her and saw tears streaming down her face as well. The tears didn't strike Fluttershy odd. What did strike her odd was that Applejack wasn't wearing her hat. "I would too, sugarcube." She chimed in. She lightly chuckled to herself. "But Ah'd say it a'million times more. I'd say it 'till the end of the day."

"But she won't be able to hear it from us ever again." Pinkie Pie added.

Tears were starting to form in Fluttershy's eyes. Why were her friends acting like she wasn't there? Was this some sick prank that Pinkie Pie and Rainbow Dash came up with? Are they intentionally ignoring her? "I'm right here!" Fluttershy screamed. "Can't you hear me!? Have you all gone deaf!? Must I scream louder!?" She screamed right in front of their faces, but none of them reacted to her.

"I wish I could hear her? I'd give anything to hear her sweet voice." Rarity said.

"Me too." Applejack said.

Pinkie Pie, sadly, sighed. She laid her head on the table. "Me three."

"What is wrong with you!? Stop this!" Fluttershy yelled again. None of them reacted to her. "Fine! If you're going to ignore me like this, I'll go away! I can take a hint!"

She quickly galloped away from the table and started to make way to her cottage. On her way their, she tripped and fell down. She didn't feel anything, when she fell. She got up and checked herself.

Nothing.

She was perfectly fine. No scratches, no bruises, and no cuts. She stepped off of the dirt road and sat next to a newspaper pony. He held a sign in front of him, but didn't shout out anything to the ponies that were walking by him. Fluttershy looked at the newspaper pony and found it odd. It was their job to yell things out to walking ponies. Fluttershy looked next to the pony and saw a small pile of newspapers.

Her eyes started to widen as she read the title. She quickly picked one up and read the bold letters: ELEMENT OF KINDNESS NO MORE.

She started to read more.

Element of Kindness No More

Fluttershy, the element of kindness, was finally found in the Everfree Forest. After disappearing three days ago, a rescue team has finally found her. Unfortunately, the young pegasus was found half eaten and deceased. All of Equestria is mourning over the death of one of it's finest, most gentle, and most friendliest, heroes. We will all miss her. After interviewing all of the other Elements of Harmony, these were their four words; we love you, Fluttershy. All of Equestria will miss her.

She dropped the newspaper and watched it fly away in the air. Tears were pouring down her cheeks. She was in disbelief. She can't be dead. Wouldn't she know, if she was dead? How did this happen? Why can't she remember about it? Why is she still in Ponyville, if she is dead?

A million questions were running through her mind. But all of her questions came to a halt, when she felt a hoof place itself on her shoulder. She looked up and saw Princess Luna.

"Princess Luna?" The alicorn nodded her head. "What're you doing here?" She asked, in disbelief.

"To help you." She replied.

"Help me? Help me with what?"

"To move on."

"I-I don't understand."

"Fluttershy, when everypony dies, they move on. They move on to a new place where nopony can ever describe it. They move to a dream where everything they've ever wished for....comes true." She looked down at the pegasus. "But you haven't moved on. You're still halfway here in our world."

"Halfway?"

The princess nodded. "You see, there are some ponies that have troubles completely moving on. Reason is, they have disbelief's. They think of something that is highly unlikely. When they keep thinking of this disbelief, they can't move on. I'm here to help you relieve of your disbelief."

Fluttershy looked out into the crowd. "What's my disbelief?"

"Love. You think that your friends will not love or miss you, when you are gone. Is this true?"

Fluttershy weakly nodded. "Sometimes, I think they don't include me in things because I'll either be too afraid or shy away. I think that they don't truly love me and that they're only inviting me along because they feel sorry for me."

"This is not true." Luna added.

"I learned that today." Fluttershy looked up at Luna. "Can you do me a favor, before I move on?"

"What would that be?"

"Can you tell Celestia my last lesson that I've learned?"

Luna nodded.

"Good. Dear Celestia, today, I learned that you can keep thinking something that isn't true and end up believing it. I thought my friends wouldn't love me, when I'm gone. I was proven wrong, thanks to your sister. Also, tell my friends that I love them and that I will miss them greatly. Your subject, Fluttershy."

All of a sudden, Fluttershy was picked up into the air. There was some sort of magic that was picking her up, but she couldn't figure out who's magic it was. Then, her bottom legs started to vanish into ashes. It slowly went up to the center of her body and towards her head. She didn't feel any pain. The only thing she felt was happiness. Four words kept her happy, while she was moving on: we love you, Fluttershy.

THE END

There are people I miss, but just because they're gone, does not mean that they're lost. They're always kept away in your memories and heart.

I hope you liked this little one shot. Please leave some feedback on what you think. Just don't be too harsh. Harsh words can still hurt people, remember that. Have a good day or night.

How did you do that. Put a link with words? I keep on seeing people doing it and I do not know how.

That was nice. Slow and kinda my style. A few errors but can easily be overlooked. It also has a nice moral. Keep up the good work. :)

4666491 Well, when you click on the insert link button, a little box pops up. In the top part of the box you enter the url of the link, and in the bottom part you type what you want the words to say.

Ok. Thanks. :)

Not a bad story, although I have a feeling that Discord could have seen her as well. In truth he wouldn't want her to move on. She is the one that cared the most for him, and it's obvious that he thinks the world of her. I can only imagine what he did to whatever it was that killed her.

Indescribable. The execution of the story, save for the pace, was nearly flawless. :moustache:
To have this whole thing done in 2000 words, though, is stretching it a bit. If this had been double the length, I'm sure it would've had the detail and quality it deserved. You're almost there. Just a bit more practice. :raritywink:
My only serious complaint is the grammar. Although it was mostly good, there were a select few instances where it bothered me greatly and took some meaning off the story. I'm going to assume I'm just a picky person, for the time being. :rainbowderp:

To whom may ever this would bring attention to:

Dear friends,
Death is a sad but constant thing. Death is there to remind us that wherever our love ones go they are happily watching over us. Death is a toll keeper, there can only be certain people in this world and death is here to keep us in check.
Remember no matter how hard the impact was, it's all worth it.
Thank you

4666564 Thank you for your feedback. Now that I think about it, Discord would have been a great addition to this story, but maybe next time.

I thought about putting a really sad one up, but I think that works. He would have been great for the story. I can almost see a bit of the dialogue now.

"I don't want you to go. Stay here, with me. I can see you, and I always will. I'll always be here and so will you. We'll be together forever. We can prank Celestia, Luna, Candace, and Twilight for all time. Besides, you're my friend, my only friend, and the only one that enjoys my chaos,"

4667445 It's already caught my attention. I agree 100% that it would be a great part of the story. It does have a good dialogue with it.

:facehoof: I'm trying to get this thing out of my eye. :fluttercry:

4671354 I love your way of saying "good story."

I love that letter.

Nooo nononono not like this not like this :fluttercry: :fluttercry: :fluttercry: :fluttershbad:
ill miss u fluttershy ill miss u ill never look fluttershy the same way now :fluttercry: :fluttercry: :fluttercry:

I'm not one for sadfics, but this one wasn't too bad. It has just the right amount of emotion without being overwhelming. It din't dwell on anything more than it had to, nor did it drag on longer than it needed to. The pacing was good, the grammar was good... I can't think of anything negative to say.

4671908 It's okay. She'll be back in season 5. :yay:

Crap, my eyes sprung a leak. Now I have to hire a plumber and pay him my non-existent money.

Overall this wasn't a bad story, it could have done with a little fleshing out in a few places (maybe even on each characters perspectives to the loss and death of Fluttershy, just a tad.) You could have explained more from Fluttershy's POV as to what actually happened. It was still worth reading and it did tug a little at the heart strings.

This was still worth favourting and in liking.

Very good story, I almost cried. Almost. There were some mistakes in here though so you may want to look back and fix those if you get a chance.

4673311 I took too many hits to the feels I am going down

I cried. It was so sad.
