That was wonderful. I'm not typically a fan of stories with puns being the punch line, but this was so clever and well written that it more than deserves a thumbs up.
Took me a while, but I got it without looking at the comments or the end of the story.
The part where it dawned on me: Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash are at the spa today. Therefore the obvious answer is super long text to make you think that the answer is longer than it actually is. What? You actually thought that I'd tell you that it was the game. you lost it. But then I'd have to point out that youdon'tyougetdownfromapegasus. And that's the worst possible thing.

I imagine so too. I went with unicorn because of my human-world bias, I suppose: I wanted both races mentioned to be mythical creatures, whereas we have plenty of earth-pony like ponies and horses that wouldn't make the joke appeal as much to the human reader.
I think the scene with Rarity makes the decision pay off.
You know those stories that are so silly and entertaining that they keep you grinning until the end? This one almost made it.

Typo fixed, my thanks for pointing it out. The Rarity scene was my favorite to write - when I sat down, I had transitions set in my head, but for the individual scenes with ponies I was trying to consider what each one would say, and my concept of Rarity's natural reaction got me giggling to a point I knew it was right.
I still don't get it....
