I have only one suggestion, add a bit more of details in the beginning, DT tell that she tried to enter the portal again but that was never mentioned prior that, shiny and Cady reaction is a bit trusting and you mentioned that they appeared in a desolate place but in the movie it was a room like a museum or a warehouse.
I suggest you get a editor. Keep working on it I think the idea is great.
