Not a big fan of SoarinDash, but after reading this I see much potential in this being great. Can't wait for more.:raritywink:

Is this the long awaited sequel to LOYALTY? *squees* although the first chapter seems kinda confusing (did they switch roles o.O) I'm super excited for more!

3555301 No, it's not! Hahaha. Yeah, I hope no one gets too excited and confused by that.

So for everyone reading, this is not the sequel to LOYALTY. I'm still writing that. :ajsleepy:

Amazing way of speeding through season 1! This story seems quite well done, good job.

it's really interesting!! i hope you write more soon:raritywink::raritydespair:

W-wait a second... Mr. Prince is writing something again!? Ahahaha!!! Finally! The short description has already got me hooked on it. I'll be looking forward to seeing how this turns out.

Meh its ok could be better judging from past stories but its good hope to read more soon and i hope the sequel to loyalty comes out soon i'll be waiting

3555314 I'm not much for alternate universes, but Loyalty was AMAZING. I'll be waiting for that sequel.

"Mirror blue" eh? Is the ending of this gonna be them realizing they have switched roles. The word "mirror" is telling me something like that is going to happen. Otherwise, why would you put that word into the title with the story being in an altimate universe where in the story this is how its sopposed to be. Nice cover art by the way :)

THE COVER ART thats it!!! THEY Will KNOW!! the shadows. THE SHADOWS. DUH. look at the shadows!!:rainbowkiss:

Nice alternate spin on the first season, and I really like the take on Soarin’s special move.

For some reason I thought this was a complete, two chapter only story; I'm certainly glad I was wrong, 'cause I'm looking forward to more.

I have to say the parts I liked best were where you broke away from following show canon completely; little moments where Soarin' doubts himself after telling his cutie mark story to the CMC or Pinkie tries to make the conversation awkward were nice, and I especially liked how he fails where Dash originally succeeded. The story really grabbed me when it was Rainbow who saved Soarin' and Rarity, especially because it gave me something I was hoping for from this concept; Rainbow is a Wonderbolt here, so I want to see her be awesome. Subverting my expectations and having her save the day here (again) really pulled that off. In the same manner, I like how Soarin' fails to save her pie at the Gala, but then ends up saving her life and pulling off a Thunderwing, catching her attention.

Moments like those were what really caught my interest, and I hope you have more of them, because the rest of it was, to be honest with you, less interesting. I think it's because you spent a lot of time essentially copying the events of the show, only sticking Soarin' in Dash's shoes; the thing is we've seen those episodes and that ground has already been covered. It was nothing new. Reading how Rarity decides to make Soarin' a suite/tux, how he messes it up, helps apologize, how he got his cutie mark or sang on his way up to the gala...it felt like I was just reading the moments of episodes I'm already very familiar with. They felt unnecessary, because they told me nothing new. Now, in the beginning this method did establish that in this universe Soarin' basically does everything Dash did, and vice versa--it's not massively different, which was a possibility going in. Instead, their roles are nearly completely reversed. Once I understood that, everything else that made the same point (the cutie mark story, Soarin trying to teach Fluttershy to cheer, the two of them getting bullied, etc) kinda felt repetitious. I now wanted to see how putting Soarin' in Dash's shoes might change things, since otherwise what would be the point of reading the story? I already know what Dash does throughout the three seasons; replacing her with a picture of Soarin' in my head isn't hard, I certainly don't need a story for that. That's why the times you did change things up it was far more engaging; I now no longer knew what would happen next, or the what the next line of dialogue was; I was no longer reading brief clips of season one with Soarin's name pasted over Dash's.

I don't know what your plans are, but I hope you stick with the new material, and keep the retread stuff more off screen--but hey, it's your fic, you do what you want  In any event, you've left it off at a good point, and I definitely want to see what happens next.

3576502 Thanks for the thought-out review, as always Axis!

I agree with you about the weak point being the parts that are the same for both of them, because we already know that stuff. I'm going to edit the third chapter before I post it; it felt boring to me, but I came up with a way to change that.

Update quickly now, the inevitable is coming.

Again, an interesting twist on the canon events.

Ooooo, I like how differently the wedding invasion played out. Dash’s training was a nice touch too, and very well timed.

So... AWESOME!!!
I need more of this and I need it pronto! (or later, if that's ok with you...)

I'm not much for alternate realities, but this is AMAZING!!! Keep up the good work!

Well this AU story is still keeping itself interesting. Nice to see some early romance by the way.

You never cease to amaze. Keep doing what you're doing, and be awesome! :pinkiehappy: :rainbowkiss: :raritystarry: :rainbowdetermined2: :derpytongue2:

awww....over already :fluttercry:
Nice ending n.n

Brilliant! I really enjoyed this. :)

AU workd romance ending...
Worth it.

Huh, and again, that was an interesting twist on the canonical episode.

I knew it. They title and cover art gave it away -smirks-

Boy was I behind on this haha but I'm glad I caught up. I enjoyed how you took canon events and twisted them in unexpected ways, like when the wonderbolts helped the mane six reach the elements during the changeling invasion, leading them to actually win sooner this time. And it's been quite a long while since I read Loyalty, but I would swear that the scene where Rainbow trains Soarin was a mirror version of what happened in that fic. It felt very familiar.

I also liked the twist in the end, where their destinies get mixed up and they end up living each other's original lives. I liked it because the story was actually addressing the fact it was about a mirror universe, and began exploring those implications. It made you start thinking about the whole thing, about the premise of the story, as opposed to simply accepting it and enjoying the ride. I think this essentially worked by forcing the mirror idea to the forefront of what was happening and making the characters themselves have to consider it, which then made us consider it; the fact this was a mirror universe wasn't just the foundational rule behind the story, it was now directly involved. It's a shame you couldn't go more in depth with that.

And overall I think that applies in general here; this story could easily have been a lot longer and more in depth. That's not at all a strike against it, I'm simply saying that there's room for expansion, that, you know, you had more material to use than you actually did. If you ever wanted to, you could expand it a great deal. After all, many key canon events were glossed over, we only saw Dash and Soarin together a handful of times, and only one chapter was spent on the story's sort of self-evaluating concept of a mirror universe being un-mirrored, which is interesting in part because we the readers don't automatically know if that's supposed to be a bad thing or not (after all, we love the original universe and care for its version of the characters), as well as getting us to consider the whole idea of a mirror universe in a deeper way.

I'm not saying that the story should be expanded, and obviously you didn't have massive plans for it and were only aiming for a shortish fic (I assume, anyway), but it could be. Personally, I would have enjoyed some more time with Dash and Soarin as well as with the universes being mixed up, but overall it was a fun ride.

Keep it up Prince! And of course, you know what story I'm looking forward to next. :scootangel:

3735476 I actually wanted it to be shorter! But I'm glad I managed to end it here. Even though it would be easy to write more for this one, I had to end it because I didn't want to spend all of my good Dash & Soarin' moments in this particular story.

3735889
Haha well I totally feel ya on that one. Sometimes ya gotta make those types of calls.

Wait, Soarins the Element of Loyalty" :rainbowhuh:
Sorry, got a little confused at the fabric of time.

This story blew my mind... I only just got to it, but the final chapter had a cool ending like the futurama series finale. Awesome story!

Did.... he.... Rainbow Dash? Oh I smell a CRUSH!

Does it have a sequel? If it has, I AM really gonna read it. not missing any beat.

Thunderlane looked skeptical. “So I guess you’re a hero now or something? Don’t you wonder why you’re the only dude in that group?”

Huh wow lol it's like hitch Trailblazer and My Little Pony new generation the only dude in the group

So this is a pretty interesting twist here so instead of Rainbow Dash it's soarin became friends with the other girls and one of The Elements of Harmony which that's a pretty interesting scenario how the episode will go with him being with the Mane 6 not only that working at the weather Factory and dreaming to become the Wonderbolts but when the competition came around he found a little bit nervous but his friends came to support him even though Rarity did not help the situation showing off with her wings and now she's in the competition and just as we suspected she fell because her wings burn from the Sun soarin try to save her and the other two Fallen Wonderbolts is he going to make it that is a pretty good Cliff hanging chapter

“This is uncanny!” Twilight said excitedly. “Soarin’, I think you caused the explosion that led to my cutie mark too. Do you know what this means? All of us had a special connection before we’d even met!”

It is kind of funny how one event change everything rainbow or Soarin they helped them even though they never met each other

Boy so it looks like Rainbow dash finally made her appearances she saved rarty and Soarin and the other 2 and even though he did not win the best Flyers competition but he got the knowledge from Rainbow Dash that she admired about saving his friend and even risking his life despite everything he felt like he did everything he could now it looks like everybody is starting to getting ready for the grand Galloping Gala and his relationship with the other girls are pretty good friendship wise but once the gala is here they made their way over there and it looks like saw soarin saw one of the Wonderbolts and it's Rainbow Dash and she bought a pie from Applejack and apparently she drop it and Soarin try to catch a for her but ended up crashing on her instead oops lol but it looks like rainbow recognize him despite the new look on him and she even invited him to the VIP what year was pretty excited but unfortunately things did not go very well because the Wonderbolts are too busy talking with the other guests but it looks like everything is starting to fall apart when Prince Blueblood crash into one of the statues after getting cake on which he deserve that but rainbow stop the statue from falling but unfortunately one of the tip of the statue fell off and going to land on her so soarin and pushed her out of the way from getting hurt and we all know what happened with Fluttershy going insane

The first thing Dash noticed when she woke up was the rain. Droplets of cold water pelted her coat. She lurched away from the soggy sheets and fell out of bed. Some sort of pink raincloud was pouring brown rain over where she had been sleeping. The murky water dripped over her muzzle and she tasted it on accident. It was chocolate milk.

Oh here we go Discord finally is free from his statue prison

Luna threw out a hoof and stood proud while she proclaimed, “With love’s true kiss.”

What lol that one came out of nowhere :rainbowlaugh:

Boy this is a Different Twist of events here and with Discord showing up making chaos everywhere in Equestria but he also mess with the Mane 6 mostly soarin which what he said was pretty hurtful and that really cut him like that the other has finally regained their mind all they have to do is to get soarin and they caught him but something is wrong Twilight magic trying to bring his memory back is not working and use the advantage to escape Twilight and the others are panicking what they're going to do until Princess Luna showed up twilight told her everything what just happened and it looks like she wants to find him and once she found him she confront him telling him what is loyalty is he felt like he doesn't belong with them like his Destiny was changed but even things did not go the way it's supposed to there's one thing he knows he wasn't going to fail Twilight and his friends and it looks like his mind is back and they finally stopped Discord meanwhile back at the Wonderbolts it looks like Rainbow dash is about to deliver a letter I wonder what the letter is going to say

Boy a lot of things were happening during the Hearts and Hooves Day Rainbow dash teaching Soarin how to control his flying power and everything which that's pretty cool to teach somebody to control their power and it looks like the Canterlot Wedding invasion is starting and it looks like the Wonderbolts helping the situation which that's pretty awesome and it looks like they got the elements of harmony and they finally stopped Queen Chrysalis and it looks like Soarin and Rainbow dash having there a little moment and ohh not only that it looks like the Wonderbolts Academy is coming up soon

“Sure seems that way,” Applejack said. “’Course there’s something batty about it. Rainbow Dash gets most of the details, but she’s just plain wrong about some things. She seems ta think Cadence and Twi’s brother defeated the changelings, and she was even there for that part! Plus, she don’t remember Soarin’ at all.”

I see what's going on here it looks like both Rainbow dash and Soarin has the original memories from how we remember the episodes

Wow that actually blew my freaking mind so apparently this is during the time of season 3 finale when Twilight read the spell of Star Swirl book not only it did switch the Cutie Marks of her friends but also their memories including Rainbow Dash somehow but she did regain their Memories Back but unfortunately both rainbow and Soarin still don't remember and apparently their mind remembers that we remember in the show's basically it's the original timeline but in an alternate universe again really blows my mind but then they finally meet each other again and it looks like both of them are in the Universe where Princess Celestia is waiting for them said something about how destiny can be very tricky but it looks like she gave them a choice to go back to the original or back to alternate one but after that it looks like they made the choice they stayed where they were and no matter where they are it feels like they always have each other and soarin is happy where he is with his friends and how his life gos this was a pretty awesome story and how the alternate take on switching ponies of the destiny so that was pretty good keep up the good work
