execution! then send her corpse to the moon.
I think I'll just leave this here.
Oh, Godess.
I think execution will be the chosen path, considering that sending her to the moon would allow the moonlings to corrupt her again (if you are following the comic arc) and being forgiven is like.. impossible.
MAKE THE BITCH BURN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
hehehehehehehehehe
I don't know, I would like forgiving Rarity, but the things that did to Flitter, deserve to de executed or send to the Moon.
But I will leave it to your choice.
Huh I didn't think Cloudchaser would be mad lol. Oh well next up is Miss Rarity and her punishment.
Ugh, don't send Rarity to the Moon. I doubt anypony wants to look at her mug whenever they look at the Moon at night.
3105916 Rarity being forgiven can actually be the cruelest punishment if played right. Having to see the ones you once called friends look at you like a monster for you past actions, seeing the one you love away out of your reach now. As long as its not a "slap on the wrist don't do it again" forgiven scene i can see it happening.
Don't get me wrong, i want to see Rarity suffer, I just don't care what kind of suffering it is

Burn her at the stake.

3105955 Death is too easy for her.
Have her entire family disown her.
FORGIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIVE!
on opposite day
Don't you fucking dare let her be forgiven.
I wish it was Discord's fault or something... poor Rarity. You went too far and became evil. I hope you get banished to the moon and get redeemed in a thousand years or something like Luna. If not, then I hope the deed is painless.
HELL YEAH! THIS IS THE SHIT I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR!
Time to pay up, BITCH~
3106011 I agree. This bitch needs to be sent to the moon. ASAP. AS IN GET CELESTIA OFF HER LAZY ASS AND GET HER HERE NOW!!!!

JUST KILL HER OR SENT HER TO THE MOON!! RARITY WILL NOT BE FORGIVEN!! SHE'LL DIE IN HER OWN BLOOD, AND IT SHALL BE PAINFULL!!
3105974 Twilight: Rarity...we forgive you.
Rarity: Really?! Y-you forgive me for what I've done? Thank you thank you thank you!!!
Twilight: So sad that it's Opposite Day.
Rarity: What?!?!
Twilight: Not to worry, we love you, and we hope to see you in a few years.
Rarity: But...does that mean-?
Twilight: TO THE MOON!!!!!!]
Rarity: AAAAAAHHHHHHHH!!
Execution by deprivation of sleep. That is the cruelest thing I could imagine.
Thank God they called the police

And is there gonna be a Epilogue?
SEND HER TO THE MOON!
Of all the punishments, I really want to see her get sent to the moon. I mean, it's the perfect lineup for a sequel, what with all the festering rage (and the whole 'Nightmare Rarity' thing if you like). I'd love to see her return as a full-on hell-bent villain, going after her friends for sending her away, as well as Spike and Flitter etc.
And even if you don't plan on writing a sequel, sending her to the moon could have so many great endings. I mean, we could have a Portal 2 (yes, I couldn't resist mentioning it since sending her to the moon includes SPAAACE) Wheatley, "I'm sorry" scene, or we could have an, "I'll be back" scene, or even something more mysterious, who knows?
I'm not trying to get you to change the ending in any way, it's your fic after all. These are just some of the endings I can see coming if she ends up on the moon :D
Final loose end will be tied next. Can't wait.
Yes, the moment we've all been waiting for.
OFF WITH HER HEAD!
Pinkie!
Then, then we'll SEND HER TO THE MOON!
It has to be done.
3105966 feed her to a pack of feral dogs!

I'm so mad at you!
whyyyyy????
I can't believe this.
you are not a friend of mine.
I can't believe this is happening...
how dare you.
TO THE MOOOOOOOOOOOOON!!!!
I regret nothiiiingggg!
Based on how a lot of the stories end on this site, she will probably be forgiven and everything will go back to normal
After everything that's happened, I can see Cloudchaser taking the fact that Spike slept with Flitter quite badly at first.
As for Rarity's punishment, death is too good for her.
Her punishment: everything she did to Flitter.
Now that Spike isn't being hunted down by his girlfriend's pissed off older sister we can now focus on Rarity. I would say sent to the moon while having to live out Cupcakes with her replacing Dash in a constant loop in her mind.
im sad this next chapter might be the last
but seriously, Rarity...moon...NOW!
speech and then moon her

3106190 It's the Guillotine for her.
thechirurgeonsapprentice.files.wordpress.com/2012/08/guillotine7.gif
That chapter was short, but still got the point across.
As for the sentencing. It's about damn time.
P.S. Why does the thought of trolling everyone reading this by having Rarity chose a fate of banishment or generously 'offering' herself until the Elements are restored come to mind?
Finally this insanity is coming to a close. In my opinion this stopped being about what if someone you loved leaves you and never comes back and turned into what if everypony in MLP was really really really really really really really really really really stupid.
And Spike escapes death one last time, it seems... So that about wraps this one, as Hagity's punishment has almost become irrelevant by this point in light of the much larger problems she has created. Perhaps somewhere down the road we can broach the subject of said problems, but as the viewers seem to be fairly united in their thirst for the antagonist's blood, that seems like a fair place to end for now...
Personally, I vote banishment; it would make revisiting this story later more fun if she were still alive somewhere, so long as she's also thrown in jail in the place that she's banished to.
3106211
Really? Have you read this author's stories before because that doesn't fit for him.
this one was a funny chapter and also camel is your pic a fan art cause its pretty damn kool
3106421
... Because you've been paying attention...?
3106535 That actually seems like the absolute best punishment instead of banishment or execution. Losing everything she had, disowned by everypony. Watch Spike and FLitter go on to have a happy relationship. Being forced to watch the rest of Equestria move on ahead and not give a shit about her, force her to live as maybe a whorse on the streets cause thats all she is by now. Execution would be letting Rarity off too easy since she wouldn't suffer at all which is what she deserves.
Here's what you should do. make two more chapters, the next one being the ending you originally planned, and the one after that listing the events that followed. Also, depending on what you have in store, people will want a sequel.
What ever happens she shall be punished. HEADS. WILL. ROOOOOLL!!!
Make her dye her mane green with plaid clothing

I am actually liking this possibility for that exact reason. Banishing Rarity is a great idea, banishing to the moon is not, because doing so is a death sentence. There are lots that say for Rarity needs to be executed for all that because of all the cruelty and coarseness of her offenses. What really happens to that is you are ultimately putting Rarity out of her misery--an act of mercy. And is that really a punishment? An metaphorical eye for an eye? Like the rest of the proverb says, an eye for an eye makes the world go blind. What if Spike killed Rarity for what she did for him and his girlfriend? Somepony that cares for Rarity, will want to waste Spike, regardless of the reason, which will lead to sompony getting revenge on somepony that wasted Spike that wasted Rarity, and so on and so forth.
If Princess Celestia does decide to do with that sentence, that would be the ultimate slap of karma to Rarity's face. The potential fact that Spike would forgive Rarity for all her transgressions and sins against him despite that would be a sword to Rarity's heart many times sharper than a guillotine or the executioner pony's axe. She would have to live with her consequences until the day she returns to dust, and at the same time Spike and Flitter grow deeper in their relationship, with the entire nine--marriage, foals/kirins, potential alicornation of Flitter because Spike lives for a extraordinarily long time--basically everything Rarity wanted but couldn't get. At that point suicide is most likely.
Seriously, what would be the most damaging: Rarity forced to live on the moon, Rarity being executed, or Rarity banished/sent to prison indefinitely? Personally for me, I go for option 3.
For more cruelty, how about this: go with the banishment, but make Rarity immortal, like Princess Luna was when she became Nightmare Moon. She can't die, has to suffer the rest of time that all of equinekind knew of her wrongs, and there is no relent to it--basically a version of hell (or Tartarus to stay pony).

WOAH! Too far man, TOO.FAR! I mean, I can understand her getting fucked with a chainsaw and being taken apart bone by bone and stacked neatly in a pile.. But GREEN MANE?! PLAID?!? Satan himself doesn't deserve that sort of cruel and unusual punishment! SHOW SOME MERCY!
But no, with all seriousness, Rarity can go step on a lego.
3106615 3107184 Yes, good idea. Because setting aside the basic concepts of and purposes for punishment...things NEVER end badly when a character in this universe is subjected to feeling of worthlessness, abandonment, and despair. It's never caused any of them to start having elaborate conversations with inanimate objects, and certainly none of them has ever tried to cause the extinction of all life on the planet because she felt like she'd been rejected.
And that aside...really, let's consider their track record on crime that we've seen. Trixie enslaves a town, gets off scot-free. Luna goes insane, tries to kill everyone on the damned planet; she immediately gets to be princess again once she gets over it. Discord does...whatever it is Discord does (which involves, at the least, mindrape, holding screaming ponies over fire, and ill-tempered animals)...TWICE; they go out of their way to redeem him. So treason and slavery, attempted genocide and...Discordary are forgivable, but making one mare's life hell for...what, less than a week isn't? And no, I'm not trying to say that what happened to Flitter wasn't terrible; I'm just saying...perspective. Of course they need to punish Rarity, not least because they need to fix the Elements, but suggesting that she must be exiled from society and disowned by her friends and family...bit of an overkill, when you look at things. Kind of like applying the death penalty to a rapist, while a mass-murdering sociopath gets off with community service.
Which is the other thing...okay, bear with me here, but...Rarity DID have a reason for doing what she did. It was a terrible, terrible reason, which frankly brings to mind hints of a serious mental illness on her part...but, in her mind, she had a reason. She had a clear goal - Remove Flitter, Get Spike. And actually...you know, again, bear with me, the goal itself wasn't actually bad either. Think about it - Spike had just started dating Flitter, and they weren't particularly serious at the start, so it isn't as if she was trying to break up a committed relationship. Executed another way, the initial conflict could have been the premise for a touching romance wherein Rarity tries earnestly to win back Spike's love, or possibly a hilarious romantic comedy wherein she tries many a zany scheme to win back Spike's love. Half the time, in those situations, we're meant to root for the character who'd be in Rarity's role. But I digress. The point is, she's not just doing it for the hell of it; she's not a psychotic monster. And, while she did sell Flitter into sexual slavery, that was more a means to her end, as opposed to the end itself, so it seems unlikely she'd make a habit of it. So while stressing that, yes, she needs to be punished, after the initial punishment, just...she's really only been a direct, intentional threat to Flitter - just keep her the hell away from Flitter, or any other mares Spike might date if things sour between the happy couple, and it probably won't be an issue.
So banish her to the moon without killing her, turn her to a statue, whatever works in that regard to get Generosity to move on to the next bearer so everything works again. I'm just saying, let's keep the rest of it proportional.
Oh, and fyi...yeah, pithy as the old "Eye for an eye make the whole world blind" bit is, it was originally created to ensure punishment in kind...well, within a certain set of circumstances, anyway. Regardless, the historical alternative was punishment in escalation - You poke out my eye, I burn your house down. I burn your house down, you lay waste to my crops and salt the earth. You salt my earth, I murder your children. And so on and so forth. Which is, upon consideration, what you happen to be suggesting - Rarity makes one pony suffer for a finite period of time...so let's have everyone cause Rarity to suffer until the heat death of the universe. I'm just saying, you want to avoid making the world blind, you need to temper justice with mercy.
Honestly a bit of a fitting punishment would to return the favor. She forced Flitter to do those acts. So why not strip her free will from here. Or make it that Spike and Flitter tells Rarity what to do from now on and she can't resist. Use an enchantment that strips Rarity's magic from her that she must follow Flitter's and Spike's order. Make her labeled as a pet for them. Her house and belongings are given to Flitter and Spike. So they have a house together which they can destroy or keep as they please. Rarity because there pet/slave to do as they please. Even let her make outfits for Flitter. She even karma fitting she is well known for her acts and punishment in Equestria. So in the end every pony is happy. Rarity gets to keep Spike but she is his play thing. Spike is with Flitter and she gets to have payback on Rarity. Rarity doesn't get sent to the moon and doesn't get separated from her "friends" well what's left of them and she can continue making outfits. As for the Element of Generosity well give it to another pony. Pure and simple. I mean it's possible to keep the pony that use to use it around. Look at Celestia and Luna there still around with the others using it. So why wouldn't the same apply with Rarity and her old element?
I'm just saying this way it kind of wraps it up in a nice bow. You can even do a bit more clop with Rarity getting used and finally having Spike in her. I think it would fit. But hey that's me I guess. What ever you decided I can't wait to read.
Whoa! So we're at the end huh? I'm too happy about those two patching things but its was too short a chapter for it to be the penultimate chapter! Oh well and now theres that last thing. Rarity's punishment. Now I wanna see her have front row seats to Spike and Flitter going at it for hours, followed up with a bit of torture of painting her green and walking the country in terrible clothing and then a mercy killing (This is the mildest punishment I've got since physical torture wont be as effective) but alot of people have a pointed out how Villians be a slap on the wrist after doing terrible things! Trixie enslaving a town in Magic Duel, Luna with the Nightmare Moon thing, Discord...bring Discord, and even Snips and Snails bringing in a giant bear in town were just brushed off! I hope she gets punished but as things are with Spike and Flitter being together again and happy, I'm seeing a forgiveness ending... Hows about multiple endings? Its a d*ck move to pull in storytelling like this with very evil protagonist but seeing as how I've been held captive by this story so powerfully that I'd be crying or getting pissed that a multi-ending would be a spit in the face.
Something maybe that because she was the one who corrupted the elements. That the elements should somehow react to Rarity... and turn her into a hideous creature where she could only come out at night to scrounge for food and the sun burns her skin.
please, please do not go the route of Celestia somehow making Rarity go through some magical place, some trial, or in her mind to fight her bad side to come out good again. just please no.
