As the ruler of Equestria, it's her job to decide when to deploy the nation's most powerful weapon against its enemies, at her sole discretion. It's a heavy responsibility, with severe ramifications. How can a lone pony decide if trapping someone in stone is justifiable? And what will happen if she can't make that choice?

Saro-Terrent is about as far from the manipulative, suave changeling infiltrator stereotype as you can get, but Princess Twilight has chosen him (for some reason) to help bridge the gap between changelings and ponies. Now he needs to give a talk to the foals at Ponyville Elementary about changelings, but there's just one problem:

He's kinda terrified of ponies.

An AU Equestria Girls fanfic.

In an alternate world of steam and gunpowder, the mysterious ruler known as Celestia is dead and the dark god Nightmare Moon has already sentenced half of Greater Everfree to the apocalypse. The future now depends on six strangers uniting before the world either falls into darkness or self-destructs.

Yet there are far greater forces at work than anyone realizes, and secrets far more terrible and destructive than any monster lie deep in the realms of eternal night. As the same power that brought the world to its knees becomes the means to fulfill the dreams of human ambition, what sort of future these six strangers will bring is called into question: a harmony of peace or a far greater cataclysm than the one currently facing the world.

Once-Queen Chrysalis has had her schemes blow up in her face yet again. Naively, she thought, this time would be different. Take their power for her own, and it would be a simple matter to enact her revenge. She did not expect to end her scheme crippled, starving, and in the hooves of the pests that ruined her life.

Twilight and her friends have had a rough day. An argument during their trip through the woods nearly had them at each others throats, but they pulled through together and laughed about it in the end. They didn't expect to end their day with them taking one of the greatest threats to Equestria into custody. And Twilight certainly didn't expect herself to be extending her hoof to another poor, lost soul, trying to help them find their way.

This story is a sequel to Beginning Anew

Prince Mark Wells' interdimensional business with Earth is expanding into new locations, and those require managers with knowledge of the existence of the magical nation of Equestria. Several men and women are selected and introduced to the new world and each must learn how to cope in their own ways with the culture shock.

Life's a game full of decisions, and most of us don't have the power to change the rules. All we can do, is make our choice, and hope it was the right one, because in the end, no matter what anyone else says or does, we choose our own destiny. I don't know an awful lot about life, how to cheat at it, for instance, has always eluded me, but I do know that what I say is true.

If I've truly learned anything worth knowing, leading the life I do, it's that all are equal in death. The legacies we each leave behind, that is what truly determines the worth of someone.

So with that in mind, I've got just under 70 cycles to carve my name into history, 'fore I bite it that is.
