Twilight has always loved mysteries. Researching them, dissecting them, and finally, solving them. Almost nothing could compare to the joy she feels when finding an answer to a question no pony knew.

But there are mysteries with answers better left unheard, truths that aren't meant to be known. Now Twilight has solved a mystery with an answer she doesn't want, an answer she can never forget.

I am being stalked by a crazy girl with wild pink hair and laughing blue eyes. She says she knows me. She says we’re best friends. And sometimes ... sometimes I think she just might be right.

Maybe I’m going crazy too.

In the wake of Discord’s flippant betrayal in the fight against Tirek, Fluttershy falls apart. She doesn’t answer the letters Discord sends her, sequestering herself in her cottage until Twilight and Rainbow Dash nearly force their way in to help her put her life back together.

Discord, meanwhile, is swallowed by a feeling that cuts much deeper than simple selfish grief. To ensure that Fluttershy is never harmed again, he flees Canterlot and finds himself using unconventional magic he swore he’d never use, filled with a purpose he’s wholly unfamiliar with. Things quickly get out of paw, claw, and hoof.

Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash have a talk.

I mean, really, I'm sure the majority of us got some of the same vibes and impression during that episode featuring Countess Coloratura and Applejack. From childhood to the present, they seemed to be rather close. Looking at Applejack interact with Rara is what has always gotten me thinking about where they stand.

To me, it's like they have something a little more than friendship, and I wrote this to inquire upon those curious thoughts.

Sunset Shimmer answers a knock on her door one day to find Adagio Dazzle standing on the other side of it. When she inquires as to the reason for the Dazzling's unexpected visit, Adagio answers by saying she's in need of her socks.

It's been a few years, but it finally happened. Rarity finally told him it just wasn't gong to work out. Now all Spike wants to do is sit in his room and wallow in his misery. Fortunately, Rainbow Dash has other ideas. After all, she needs a partner for the Equestrian Unity Challenge and he could use some time away from home. Of course, making a partnership work is hard enough without the introduction of unexpected rivals or unexpected feelings.

This story is a sequel to Working Towards The Future

This story follows up where Working Towards The Future left off. You should really read that story, and the first story "I'm Tired Of All This" before reading this. In fact, this description spoils those stories! So stop reading this and go read those.

It's been three weeks since the events of Working Towards The Future. Scootaloo is happy with Rainbow Dash and better yet, it's the day that Star Shine returns from Canterlot. Someone else who's just as important was also on that train. He's not too happy that the bane of his existence is still alive when he spent years thinking she was dead.

He's quite happy he can get his revenge though.

Rated teen for language and violence. At least one of them should happen. Tagged romance to be safe. Mild shipping may or may not occur. Also tagged Alternate Universe because, like the two stories before it, this fic totally disregards Season 3. It's set between S2 and S3.
