Unfortunately for her, Starlight is curious.

A mysterious force of magic has blanketed itself over the land of Equestria. The peaceful day is suddenly plunged into a state of disarray. With something strange going on in the Crystal Empire; Princess Twilight Sparkle, her friend Starlight Glimmer, and number one faithful assistant Spike prepare themselves for the horror they are about to face as they push the boundaries of magic and comradeship.

The friends are forced to investigate the dangers and form a plan to tackle the great enemy while looking after their daily duties. With help from many of the friends Twilight made throughout her life as a student of magic and Princess of Friendship; this is a tale of strength and hope against one of the darkest adversaries Equestria has ever faced.

Author note 2: I started writing this tale Post-season 8 Ep.13 and is adapted to the cannon of Season 8 Ep. 26.
As I'm sure will become obvious to you, I cannot adapt most of this tale to a state post-season 9. I will do my best to match it though, I have a few ideas. So for the moment please, sit back and take yourself back to a pre-season 9 Equestria.

Princess Fluttershy, Princess of Kindness and sole ruler of Equestria, has a visit she must make. A visit to an old friend, and an even older enemy. A visit that will leave her questioning the very meaning of Kindness itself.

Being a professional at what you do has its ups and downs. One of those downs are that you might be given a task that would be too hard even for you.

But that shouldn't matter here, as being professional here means as long as you do your job correctly, then it shouldn't be too hard.

It's been a while since Twilight and the gang returned from Middle Earth, and they've decided to teach its lore and history at their newly opened School of Friendship, and their students love it! One pony most intrested with Middle Earth is Sunset Shimmer, who has returned to Equestria for a long deserved break. The whole idea of new magic and grand quests fascinates her, and leaves her wishing that she could've been there. And after some unforeseen anomalies with the Dimensional Mirror, she gets her wish.

But something is wrong. Bilbo seems younger, and no one has ever heard of Equestria. It appears that she has not only traveled to Middle Earth, but went back in time as well! Now she must help 13 dwarves and a hobbit slay a dragon to get their home back, all the while more, try to find a way back to Equestria.
