Celestia and Luna. Equestria's ruling alicorns seem to have been around longer then even the books have mentioned. But that's only because nopony has asked what happened to shape them into who they are today. This is their story.

While enjoying a festival after winning a big promotional contest in Alamos Town, Joeshur Riverside and his Pokémon gal-pal for life Nian suddenly get caught in a dispute between two legendary Pokémon, plunging Alamos Town into the throes of chaos and destruction.

Unfortunately, while directing his Mega Lopunny to protect the civilians and other Pokémon caught in the wake of the legendaries' cataclysmic battle by deflecting any wayward attacks, the two close friends are then blasted by the legendary Pokémon, sending them hurling into a portal seemingly created by their clash.

After recovering with no injuries to speak of, Joeshur and Nian find themselves on a plain unfamiliar to them. Unbeknownst to the duo, they were sent to another world.

By now, everypony knows the story of Nightmare Moon, of how Princess Luna found herself banished for a thousand years. But how many have considered what happened next? "Oh, Celestia was very sad," they'll say, "and it made her move the capital to Canterlot," they might add. But surely there must have been more.

A thousand years before the rise of Twilight Sparkle and her friends, the Lunar Guard and the thestrals found themselves without their lunar protector in a land filled with hate and fear, ruled by a princess stricken with grief. This is the story of these ponies, and how they struggled for survival in one of Equestria's darkest periods.

Nightmare Moon has been defeated, but at too high a cost.

Princess Luna, Celestias little sister, has been trapped in the moon along with the demon. Celestia, in her desperation, reaches out to Harmony itself, hoping the maker of the Elements can spare her sister from such a fate.

What she finds is not what she expects, and what she learns will be too much for her to bear.

There were no records. There was nopony left to say. There was no way to tell how long it had been since Chaos had taken the throne.

The sun set by His whim. The moon rose at His leisure. The earth itself could upturn in a second and transform into a swarm of bees; only if the bees weren't made of chocolate or the ground hadn't been upside down in the first place.

It could always be worse. The bees could explode, and sometimes they did.

That was only the world outside, though. That was only what lay outside of the safe, quiet forest where they lived.

But why would Celestia and Luna know about any of that, when their parents wouldn't ever let them leave?

Yeah, I dunno really where this one came from. I was just taking notes on some various pony things and some not-so-various story things, and I just kinda... got struck by some of the ideas I was having.

So, I put fingers to keyboard, and what you're about to read is what came out.

So, um... enjoy? I kinda like it, and I kinda want to make it a long-term thing. Hopefully I won't lose passion and abandon it like the others hahahahahahahahahaha

This story's more about the time period rather than the big bad chaos Himself, so, there's the premise. You're probably also gonna see my bent towards Luna, which I can't really help. Stick with me?

Also known as; The 2nd Amendment of The United States Constitution. Out of the massive assortment of people that own guns in America, there are a handful that stand out above their rest on account of their influence of the 2nd Amendment community on social media. You may already know them by their online names; Brandon Herrera, Garand Thumb, Donut Operator, Demolition Ranch, Angry Cops, Kentucky Ballistics, Hickok45, the list goes on and on... But, when this rather special group of individuals gets stranded in Equestria, right at the beginning of season one of MLP:FIM, and come face to face with one Nightmare Moon. It's up to them to figure out how to stop her and get back to earth intact.
