There's an old story about the first Hearts and Hooves Day. It took place long ago, in the lost kingdom of Asgard. It begins with a lonely prince brewing a love poison for a beautiful princess, and it ends with the war that wiped out the alicorns. It's the story of Loki and Baldur, the story of Sleipnir, and the story of how a dragon came, a kingdom fell, and Chaos reigned.

Ruminating on a pre-war radio play the pair listened to in days past, Metalscrap, taking the new name Onyx Gallantry, rattles the chains of his increasingly distant raider past when he offers himself to Little Hope, a traveling hybrid between cat and unicorn. Strong ponies don't have hearts. Raiders don't feel. But sometimes, Hope can save even the most monstrous of ponies.

Everyone in Equestria is assigned a personal clock to tell them when important things in their life are going to happen. They'll tell them when they'll finally reach a goal they've hoped to achieve and even when they're going to die. The one that most ponies look forward to is when the clock chimes for meeting their true love.

Sweetie Belle is terrified of her clock. Most clocks in Equestria have reasonable hours. Most clocks in Equestria go off at a reasonable time. Sweetie Belle's clock tells her she'll die at the age of twenty. The one that tells her when she'll reach her personal goal is completely stopped and the one that tells her when she'll meet her true love... is chiming.

A few years after Luna's return it seems that Equestria will finally know an era of peace and appears to be on the verge of a new renaissance. Ponies are blithely happy, as they are often.

Luna is recovering, and happier than she's been a long, long time.

Celestia is miserable. She's faced with unexpected changes, like always. It never really mattered until she was faced with something (or rather somepony) she wasn't sure if she could cope with, and everything that came with him.

Now, it feels like she is watching the world fall apart. Her world.

Chancellor Neighsay feels personally offended; as Tilight Sparkle is challenging his authority. At least, it is how he feels, when she is standing him up; not just once, but twice.

What an upstart; thinking she could challenge him and the authority, he built up.

He thinks; Twilight needs to learn her place, if he needs to play it dirty, so be it.

Niece and Nephew should fit right into this plan; Twilight and her friends do not know or recognize them.

Two ponies are about to enjoy their time, Royally; while another will be facing a challenge he had never been prepared for. What the ponies are awaiting, is in a pair of very capable and slippery hooves.

A Marshmallow at the helm; riding the adventure as she pleases, to the destination of her choice.

Peaches aren't all that terrible. Just don't go making everything into them. You might find yourself feeling a bit peachy.

First Discord spikes Luna's shampoo to turn her mane into Celestia's. then filling a bunch of boiled collard greens and spinach into Celestia's favorite cake. Now he's mocked Celestia's weight, knowing full well how sensitive she is to that! Now they're going to get him back in their own special way!
