In AU, Twilight, known as Terra Spark, is a trained psychic soldier known as a "Ghost" and Rainbow Dash is a commander known as Brigitte Rainbow.
Two alien races, the nightmarish Changelings and high tech warriors, The Greys, are fighting each other across the sector and humanity(anthro) is trap in the middle of these aliens senseless war.

On a backwater planet, Terra watches over Rainbow, who brings not only hope to the people but also reminds Terra that she deserves a better tomorrow as well.
In return, Terra reminds Rainbow about why she can keep fighting

Base story idea suggested by gapty in the Bean's Writing Group discord. This was originally intended to be a last minute entry the Whodunnit? Youdunnit! Contest!, but stuff happened.

Yes, Dusk has a big family, and it's gonna be bigger with Cadance giving birth to his new cousin.

But things might not be all that's cracked up to be when certain trouble comes. Or maybe, even something that comes back for revenge, especially on Dusk Shine.

A task made all the more difficult by the general lunacy that afflicts most humans. Thankfully one that is a magician in training has made its way to her by its own initiative.

It's an interesting situation - it's not every day that you get to see the outcome of the road not taken, what might have been. As the married Applejack and Rainbow Dash talk to the dating Applejack and Rarity, they get a bit competitive over who made the better choice.

The other Rainbow Dash and Rarity think it was obviously them.
