We start our story with a full grown dragon walking home to Twilight’s castle. His name was Spike and he had an amazing night with his mare friend Starlight. Bet you’re wondering how they got together. Well it all started when they met at a mysterious village and she used to be evil when she stole everyone’s cutie marks. That was an issue back then. But in the end Twilight Sparkle reformed her making her realize the mistake she made and returned all the cutie marks back. It took a while for her to get to know the ponies and apologize but it all worked out. And Spike grew feelings for her and confessed at the Gala. Now they were dating for months and still are. Spike sat down and grabbed a book.
“Ahh. What a night it was for me and my girl. Now I feel like reading a story.” Spike said as he looked at the book.
The book he had is called Cinderella. A classic fairy tale about a princess who wanted to go to the ball and marry the prince. But her wicked stepmother wouldn’t allow that. He sighed happily as he remembered the first time he read that and continued for like a million times. Yep. It was indeed his favorite story.
“Ahh Cinderella. My favorite fairy tale. But I read this like a million times now.” Spike said.
Then suddenly a spark went off in his head meaning he has an idea.
“Wait. I read the original script a million times. But maybe this time I can imagine it in my own way! I can pretend that I am the handsome prince and Starlight can be Cinderella! That would be an amazing story! Let’s try it out.” Spike said.
He opened the book and began to start reading it but in his own version.
“Once upon a time in a land far away from here was a tiny kingdom. In the land was a little house where a wicked woman lived with her 2 daughters. But she had a step daughter who lived with her and unfortunately wasn’t very nice to her adopted daughter. She was wicked, cruel, heartless, and cold. And was jealous of her beauty. Time went by and she forced her stepdaughter to be a servant around the house. But she remained calm and happy. She hoped that one day her dream of happiness would come true.” Spike read.
And thus we begin our story when we see the scenery change into the setting Spike narrated.
We now see the scenery change into what Spike explained while narrating the story. We see a lavender unicorn girl sleeping in her bed (Starlight) and two birds flew in trying to wake her up. But everytime they did she kept refusing to get up. They tried so to wake her and they finally did but resulted in one bird getting scared and hid behind the other one. Then she chuckled while sitting up.
"Well it serves you right for ruining people's best dreams." Starlight said.
The birds flew over and showed her that it was a lovely morning. Starlight didn't argue with that.
"Yes I know it's A lovely morning. But it was a lovely dream too." Starlight said.
The birds flew to her and chirped asking what the dream was about. After all she said it was lovely and they really wanted to know.
"What kind of dream?" Starlight asked. "I can't tell. If a tell a wish it won't come true. After all..." She said as she started singing.
She had the voice of an angel as many more critters came in and listened to her sing. They were absolutely loving this every minute of it. But she was cut off when the clock rang interrupting the song.
"Oh that clock. Killjoy. I hear it. 'Get up!' you say. 'Time to start the day.' Even he orders me around. But there's one thing. They can't order me to stop dreaming. And perhaps someday..." Starlight said continuing the song.
Everyone continued listening to the song and even swung they're heads to the tune. They enjoyed what Starlight was singing about and they helped her get dressed. When she finished they all cheered for her and a mouse came to her shouting the news.
"Hey Starlight! There's something you gotta know!" A mouse said.
"Calm down. What's all the fuss?" Starlight said.
"There's someone down stairs! I bet he's a mean one that is his!" The mouse answered.
"A visitor? Oh come now im sure he's not that bad. Well let's go see who it is." Starlight said.
She and her critter friends all went downstairs to see who the visitor was and the animals had to hide so the wicked stepmother and stepdaughters wouldn't see them. But little did she knew that her dream would soon be true.
Cleaning up Around the House/Invite to the Royal Ball
We see Starlight getting on her apron and delivering breakfast to her stepdaughters even though they are not being nice. Though they don't show respect Starlight still kept a smile on her face.
"Good morning Adagio. Aria." Starlight said.
"Well it's about time. Do you have any idea how long I was waiting? Try hurrying up next time!" Aria said.
Adagio and Aria are the wicked stepdaughters
"Yes Aria. Next time." Starlight said as she left the room.
She continued doing her chores around the house and decided to sing while she worked. After all a good song always makes the work go faster.
The critters all decided to help out. The mice were getting all the dirt and dust off the floor, the birds were hanging up the laundry, and all the others helped around with the chores. By the time see was done singing the whole house was clean. Starlight smiled in satisfaction.
"There. It's all finished." Starlight said as she heard a knock on the door.
She went to the front door and saw a royal mailwoman with blonde hair on the steps delivering some invites to a special event.
Derpy is the royal mailwoman.
"Special delivery! Invitation to Spike's Royal Ball!" Derpy said as Starlight took the invite.
"Thank you." Starlight said as the mailwoman left.
She closes the door and went up to her stepmother's music room.
In the music room we see another woman in there conducting some music with her daughters. She had black skin and blue hair. This was Chrysalis.
She was practicing some singing on her daughters but let's just say they do not have a good pitch and tone. Adagio was playing the flute til her finger got stuck and tried to get it out but resulted in hitting Aria. She finally got it out and Aria was mad.
"Clumsy! You did that on purpose!!" Aria shouted.
Then they began fighting each other but Chrysalis calmed them down.
"Now, now girls. Remember: self control. Now let's go again." Chrysalis said as she heard a knock.
"Yes?!" Chrysalis said startled as she saw Starlight. "Starlight! I warned you not to interupt..."
"Excuse me stepmother but this arrived in the mail. It's from the Palace." Starlight said.
"The palace?! Give me that!!" Adagio and Aria said taking the invite and fighting over who gets to read it. Then Chrysalis snatched it out.
"I'll read it thank you. Why it's from Prince Spike!" Chrysalis said.
"The prince?!" Adagio and Aria said.
"He is putting on a Royal Ball in his honor! And by Royal commands every maiden is to attend." Chrysalis said.
"Every maiden! That's us! We'll be able to see the charming boy!" Aria said.
"But it says every maiden can go. Meaning I can come too!" Starlight said.
"Hah! You dancing with the prince? Yeah right! 'Would you have this dance with me? Oh I be honored to your highness. Would you mind holding my broom?' "Adagio mockingly said as she and Aria laughed.
Starlight didn't give them the attention they want and replied back.
"Well why not? After all im part of the family too. And by royal command every maiden is to attend." Starlight said.
"Hmm. Yes so it does. I don't see no reason why you can't go." Chrysalis said shocking the sisters. "If you manage to get all your work done."
"Oh I will. I promise." Starlight said.
"And if you can find something lovely to wear." Chrysalis said.
"Im sure I can. Oh thank you stepmother." Starlight said leaving her and the daughters alone.
"Mother! Do you have any idea what you said?!" Adagio said.
"Yes I am. I said 'if'." Chrysalis said.
"Oh. 'If." Aria said realizing that the wicked stepmother had a plan. One that makes sure that Starlight can't go to the ball.
By night time rolled in everyone was wearing some lovely dresses for the ball. Adagio was wearing a dark purple dress, Aria was wearing a lime green dress, and Chrysalis was wearing a regular green dress with a feather in her hair.
"Come girls. We must hurry along." Chrysalis said as her daughters went to the door but a voice stopped them.
"Wait! Oh please wait." Starlight came down wearing a turquoise dress that her real mother wore when she was alive. "What do you think? Isn't it lovely?"
"Mother! You simply can't have her go with us!" Aria said as she and Adagio threw a fit over this.
"Girls please!" Chrysalis said silencing them. "After all we did make a bargain didn't we Starlight?" Starlight nodded yes. "And I never go back on my word."
"You have a lovely dress. And that necklace. It goes so well with it. Don't you think so Adagio?" Chrysalis said.
"No! I think it looks so......you thief! That's my necklace! Give that back!!" Adagio said as she snatched it away.
"And that's my ribbons!" Aria said as the two started ripping the dress apart.
"No! Girls please stop!" Starlight begged but they didn't listen.
By the time they finished ripping it to pieces the dress was all ruined. It no longer looked beautiful but now was like an old rag and Starlight was upset by their actions.
"Ok girls. That's quite enough. Hurry up now. I won't have you worry yourselves." Chrysalis said as they left the house leaving Chrysalis to say her final words.
"How could you?" Starlight said.
"Sorry dear. But I can't have my daughters be seen with someone in those old rags. And forgive me for saying this but your mother has poor taste in fashion. So mark my words. You shall not go to the ball!" Chrysalis said as she headed out.
"Good night." She said closing the door.
Starlight couldn't believe it. All that time her stepmother cruelly planned this so she couldn't go. Her eyes filled with tears as she ran to the balcony and cried so hard for being so abused. What will she do now? How can she find a way there? It seems all hope was lost.
Starlight kept running with tears in her eyes and when she headed to the garden outside she cried big time. She still couldn't believe that her own stepmother would do something cruel like that. Then again she was wicked all along. The animals all watched as poor Starlight cried on the bench. They felt sorry for her because she wanted to go to the ball but her cruel daughters had to ruin her dress so she couldn't. But she didn't realize that a glowing light was shining and even though she couldn't see it the animals can. Then the light died down and out came a woman in a white dress with pink, blue and green striped hair (Celestia). She saw Starlight and rubbed her hair.
Celestia is her fairy godmother.
"Are you all right child?" Celestia said.
"No. I lost all hope to go to the ball. I lost my all faith." Starlight cried.
"Now you don't mean that. If you lost all your faith then I couldn't be here right now. And yet here I am." Celestia said.
Starlight looked at her and gasped softly.
"Come on child dry those tears. You can't go to the ball looking that." Celestia said.
"The ball? Oh but I can't." Starlight said sadly.
"Of course you are. But we have to hurry cause even miracles take a little time." Celestia said.
"Miracles? Wait. Then you must be..." Starlight said.
"Your fairy godmother? Indeed I am." Celestia said as she got out her magic wand. "Now the first thing you need is a pumpkin."
"A pumpkin? What good will that do?" Starlight said.
"You'll see. Now if only I can remember the magic words. Oh I know!" Celestia said as she began to sing.
Using her magic wand she casted many spells on things to help Starlight get to the ball. First spell was on the pumpkin transforming into a carriage. Next was on the mice turning them into horses, the third was on the animals turning them into people to accompany Starlight and lead her to the ball. Then the final spell was on Starlight turning the rag into a brand new dress she wears. The dress is a turquoise color with diamonds representing the stars, she had a tiara on her head and the finishing touch was on her feet a pair of glass slippers with her cutie mark. Starlight absolutely looked beautiful in this and she adored the look.
"Oh fairy godmother. It's beautiful. Like it's A dream come true. Thank you." Starlight said.
"You are very welcome child. Now your ready for Spike's Royal Ball." Celestia said opening the door allowing Starlight in the carriage.
"Thanks for this." Starlight said.
"Anytime. But there's something I have to remind you about." Celestia said.
"What is it?" Starlight said.
"The magic I placed on you won't last forever. By the time it reaches midnight the spell will be broken and everything will return to normal. So just remember to be back by midnight." Celestia said.
"Ok. Thanks for reminding me." Starlight said.
"Anytime. Now go have fun at the ball." Celestia said as she disappeared into the light.
Starlight smiled and thanked her for helping. Then she ordered the man to take her to the ball and told the horses to giddyup. They obeyed and off they rode to the ball. Starlight smiled happy knowing her dream is finally becoming a reality. And will be even more magical it she gets to share a dance with the handsome prince.
A few hours went by and Starlight finally arrived at the ball. It was hosted in a castle where all the families were invited to enjoy the dance by order for the prince. She took a deep breath and headed inside. In the castle everyone was wearing a dress or a tux looking lovely. Then the sounds of trumpets gathered everyone's attention as Starlight finally got in the throne room with everyone.
"We present Prince Spike the First!!" A guard said.
Then everyone clapped as a very handsome prince came down the stairs and waved to everyone. He was a handsome dragon wearing a crown, A nice outfit that fits the title Prince, black boots and two medals. He smiled seeing everyone at the ball tonight.
"Good evening ladies and gentlemen. I welcome you here tonight and hope you enjoy the dance. And if there's any lovely ladies who want to share a dance with me you are more than welcome to." Spike said.
This made two ladies: Adagio and Arms real excited but like always they fought over who gets do you know what. But then Spike got his attention from Starlight as he headed to her.
"Gosh. Who is that lovely princess? Spike thought.
He finally got to her and bowed in respect and she did the same.
"Well hello. I am Prince Spike. Who might you be?" He said.
"I..um.well. It certainly is an honor to meet you Prince Spike." Starlight said nervously.
"Oh don't worry everyone feels nervous when meeting me. Would you like a dance?" Spike said.
"Oh of course Prince Spike. Let's." Starlight said as Spike took her hand and began waltzing.
They waltzed lovely on the dance floor as everyone smiled adorable seeing the prince dancing with his princess. But Adagio and Aria were not happy with it and decided to leave in anger. While Spike and Starlight were dancing she couldn't help but sing in her head knowing that the dream was finally coming true. She found her love and Spike found his princess. After the song they stared in each other's eyes never losing contact.
"Oh Spike. You were amazing." Starlight said.
"As were you. You truly were lovely yourself. No one can say otherwise." Spike said.
After a few hours they were about to share a passionate kiss but Starlight as the time was almost to midnight. Then she realized what her fairy godmother said.
"Midnight? Oh no! I have to go!" Starlight said as she ran out.
"Wait! Don't go! I don't even know your name! Please come back!" Spike said chasing her.
Starlight went out the door and made her way down the stairs. But one of her glass slippers came off and when Starlight tried to get it she saw Spike.
"Wait! Don't leave please!" Spike said.
"Im sorry but I must!" Starlight said in tears as she got in the carriage and rode off. Spike tried to stop her but he was too late.
"Where did she go? How will I ever find her now?" Spike said disappointed.
Then one of his guards came to him and found the glass slipper on the stairs.
"Your Highness. Look." A guard said showing him the slipper.
"Of course. The glass slipper. Tell my father this: When I find the girl who's foot fits the glass slipper then I will be destined to marry her!" Spike said.
"Yes your Highness." The guard said leaving to do his task.
"Never fear my lady. I won't rest til I find you. Your prince is coming." Spike said as he whistled to signal A guard to company him on his quest.
Back home the wicked stepdaughters was enraged that they saw Starlight at the ball with the prince. They told their mother about it while throwing a temper tantrum. But then when she received a letter saying that the prince found a glass slipper and will marry the one who fits it that made the stepdaughters get ready and still fight over the prince. But Chrysalis had another idea. She locked Starlight's door and no matter how hard she tried Chrysalis wouldn't let her out. But luckily her mice friends were able to sneak in the room and unlock the door. Meanwhile Chrysalis answered the door and the prince and a guard were presented.
"Good day ma'am. We were wondering if we can have your daughters try on this slipper. Now need I remind you that whoever fits the glass slipper then the prince will marry her. His order is for every maiden to be presented." The guard said.
"Of course. There's no one else here but my daughters." Chrysalis answered.
"Wait! Sir! Please wait!" Starlight said.
She came down the stairs and the guard frowned at Chrysalis.
"Now sir. I can explain..." Chrysalis said.
"No! His orders are that every maiden is to be presented." The guard said walking to her.
"Please have a seat." He said as she sat down.
"Now. I will see which one of you fits this glass slipper. And if you do then the prince will marry you." The guard said as the stepdaughters were giggly.
First he tried fitting the slipper on Aria's foot. But it was too small meaning she wasn't the bearer of the slipper. She frowned in disappointment as he went to the next girl. Next he tried fitting it on Adagio's foot and she tried squeezing it on there and made it look like it fits but it flew off her foot meaning it's too big. The guard caught the glass slipper before it could break and knew that Adagio wasn't the bearer of the slipper either. Finally he went to Starlight and took a deep breath hoping her would be the one. He got on his knees and placed the glass slipper on her foot and to his surprise it fits!! Now he knew that Starlight was the one who fits the glass slipper and smiled.
"My lady. You are the one who fits it." The guard said.
"Does that mean....?" Starlight said.
"Yes. The prince shall marry you. We must make haste and inform him the good news!" The guard said.
Starlight could never been more happier in her life. Now her dream was finally coming true to marry the prince. At the castle wedding bells were ringing, everyone was cheering for the new wedded couple as Spike and Starlight made their way to the carriage and rode off into the sunset. Starlight waved goodbye to all her friends even the mice as they waved back. Spike and Starlight stared into each other's eyes lovingly and finally shared a passionate kiss. And we cut to Spike who will read the final chapter of the story.
"And they all lived happily ever after. The End." Spike said as he closed the book.
"Ah. Now that was a wonderful story. I know someday me and Starlight will be together forever. Like Cinderella and her prince. Well time to hit the hay for the night." Spike said.
He went to his room and went on the bed and fell asleep dreaming everything in the story. And thus my friends ends a fairy tale crossover with Cinderella.
