IN WHICH I TALK MUSIC
As many of my longtime readers know, I am (or was) a musician, and I love incorporating song references into my stories, especially the Burritoverse. As I was working on one of my Sunset Shimmer stories, I realized one of my favourite tunes from an album I enjoy really fits where/how I envision her:
Crap, I almost forgot about Mandatory Megadeth this week! I was just sitting down to proof-read when I realised it was Thursday. Speaking of writing, I’m actually ahead of the game right now; I’m deep into the main plot of MLP EG Forever, and like the first half, it’s gotten quite dark--if not more so--and it’s been a little more interesting to write lately.
So, minor update! There's a bonus Enemy of Mine short in the anthology that I just posted. It's not much but it is in fact a Thing and you can read it, if you want. I am making progress with EoM, but I've kind of been writing the chapters in reverse order? Basically, I'm working on the epilogue - which needs one more part - and the next chapter. But I'm also drifting to working on the less demanding parts, like the epilogue and some of the later chapters, etc. I've just started
It’s been a while, hasn’t it? I want to apologise for not keeping you guys up to date on what’s happening. I understand I don’t have a true obligation to this site or my fan fictions, but I do understand that many of you have spent time reading my work in the past. I don’t know how many of you are still waiting on me. I do feel that being inactive for so long has discouraged many of you to stop waiting on me and moved your attention to something else. I don’t blame you.

So, I've noticed that my approach to writing the various main MLP characters is generally well-received, but it has not escaped my attention that some of my choices touch the occasional nerve. There are a million 'right' ways to write these characters of course...And the discerning pony of letters may even notice differences between how a character acts in one episode of the show to the next, depending on the episode's writer. People have been getting really picky with me that I don't know how to write a true Death Battle...

This was clearly a reply to my blog posts. However, just so we're clear, I'm not the one who brought up the topic of his death battles, he did. And most of my comments weren't directed towards his death battles specifically, it was just Lightning's power in general. And it was hardly the main focus.
The first chapter of the Days of the Dead's sequel has been posted, and the second should follow in a few days. I was gonna wait until the second chapter was finished and post them together, but I got impatient. No second chances for that either, I suppose.

Usually, as a writer, giving characters motivation for why they act the way they do or do things the way they do is very important. But in this specific instance, I found it more realistic to not have it. This was my response:

So I'm still not back to writing a consistent amount every day or even week. But we are trudging along. I released the new chapter of Sunny Starscout and the Mystery of Magic, so go check it out if you haven't already. I am also working on finishing the next chapter of Butterflies and Balloons plus finishing my Iron Will clop /
