Mane-iac is having a bad day. She has no ideas, her previous ideas have all been failures, and her confidence in herself is shattered.

With nothing better to do, she goes to see her archenemies, the Power Ponies.

The last thing Mane-iac could remember before being knocked out by the electric currents coursing through her body, though mostly her mane and coat was the sight of her now most hated enemies trotting away in victory. Before, they were of little concern to her, but with her plans utterly foiled, Mane-iac's new intentions turn to the six meddlesome mares and Hum-Drum, that single, scrawny little dragon of theirs. However, even he would need to be watched closely, especially after seeing what that twerp can do. The rest of the event played out in her mind as darkness, save for a few moments of alertness when she saw the familiar gates she'd been locked away behind so many times before.

The two guards who'd been carrying her could've sworn they heard the mad mare say, "It's... good to be home again..."

Mane-iac arrives in Manehatten and meets Photo Finish. What better way could she be introduced to the new city than a fashion show?

Being a fanfiction writer is one of Shining Armor's greatest traits than being a captain of the royal guard. After finding out that nopony made a fanfic on FiMfiction Ponynet (Ponynet will be mentioned in the fic for future reference), he takes it as his obligation to make it happen and be the first. Deciding to take a break, he leaves his room, accidentally knocking over a magical potion that wets his work on paper, bringing Mane-iac to life. She is persistent in believing that she is in her world still and that he is her husband, causing the poor stallion to struggle with his life, hiding her from Cadence and the rest of the pony society, and trying to figure a way to return her back into the fictional world.

Life can be a cruel mistress, can it not?

The Mane-iac has a reason, a method to her madness, and one that will shock the Mane Si-er, the Power Ponies to their core.

Upon her most recent loss to the Power Ponies, Mane-iac is admitted to the Maretropolis Home for The Criminally Insane.

Nopony was there to help her. She’d taken the shift alone, despite all the rumors. She’d dismissed them as pure nonsense – and now she was to pay for it with her life...

Before the Power Ponies came along, Maretropolis was a second Tartarus, as one ordinary mare is about to discover. But the more you push, sooner or later, something has to give...

The Power Ponies are coming again.

Another escape from custody, another scheme to take over Maretropolis, and another chance for the Power Ponies to defeat her. Such is the cycle that Mane-iac has endured for as long as she can remember.

And she's sick of it. She's sick of all of it. Now on the cusp of one more battle with her nemeses, she can only think of how much she has sacrificed for the city in her battles against the Power Ponies, and how much more she can take.
