Ever since Luna returned from her banishment and been cleansed by the Elements of Harmony, she has always been worried that she would turn back into Nightmare Moon. So without telling anypony she made a magical construct, named the Tantabus, that would plague her with dreams and nightmares of what would happen if she did turn.

That is until one night the Tantabus did something that Luna never thought would happen, it gave her a good dream.

When Princess Luna created the Tantabus years ago, she had no idea what she was truly creating. She created an intelligent creature, fully sapient. The Tantabus has wants and desires, hopes and dreams, fears and worries.

But it does not think like we do. It never did, and it never will.

It is fully aware, with the exact same feelings as we do, and we will never understand it.

Everypony has dreams. Some dream of superpowers. Others dream of fame and respect. Still others dream of creature comforts, or of achieving long-sought goals.

But what sort of dream can stop the Tantabus?

Luna recounts the guilt and fear that led her to create the Tantabus.

A midnight walk in the Everfree Forest turns dangerous as a depressed Luna ruminates on her current position in Equestria. Confronted by the echoes of the Nightmare, the Moon Sister must battle for her sanity and soul.

This is a commissioned work for Papa Dragon.

One thing that was made clear to Luna during the Tantabus Incident was that the dream-fighting skills of everypony in Ponyville needed work. So she started an event to change all that.

Hilarity, chaos, awesomeness and friendships ensue.

After the events with the Tantabus, Luna thinks she's got everything under control. However, when Twilight drops in to pay her a visit, she starts to question her own actions.
