Fluttershy is in love with Rainbow Dash. That's a problem, because Applejack is also in love with Rainbow Dash. When the scruffy sex goddess mare is kidnapped by changelings, the two friends-turned-rivals must team up for an epic adventure that spans Equestria in order to seek not only her safety but also her affections, as they compete to outdo each other at every turn along the way.

Note: This story does not have a crossover tag, even though some of you mat have noticed that the title is inspired by the Mario and Luigi series of RPGs, down to the punny subtitle. That's because the story isn't actually a crossover with that series. AJ and Flutters won't be spelunking through Chrysalis's gut, and Rainbow Dash's sweet and pure raspy yet adorable voice doesn't power any sort of legume-themed artifacts. The story was originally a retelling of Superstar Saga, but then I decided that was dumb, so I changed the subtitle but kept the format because why not? This story is really just the product of the question, "What would happen if you take the classic Mario formula of the love interest being kidnapped and the quest to save her, but with lesbian horses instead of hairy Italian plumbers?"

When a experiment gone wrong lands a ruthless and powerful foe in the middle of Equestria, Twilight and her friends must put trust in a battered group of human soldiers if they are to stave off a revolution of the Bolshevik variety...

Twilight Sparkle loves being a librarian. She gets to spend all day surrounded by her favorite things in the world—books—and best of all, nopony ruins it by trying to talk to her (or at least if they do, they have to be quiet about it).

But when the new head of the Equestrian Library Association gives her an ultimatum, Twilight's future as Ponyville's librarian will hinge on her ability to face the most horrifying creatures she's ever had to deal with:

No, not her new boss (who's clearly up to no good). Not the cult of the Dark God Cacophonon. Not even the strange book that won't. Stop. Staring. Worse than all that.

Being a cowboy is usually very straightforward. Frank, however, finds himself in over his head when he meets a unicorn - a very whiny, needy unicorn with a compulsive need to be fabulous and an unexpected knack for gunslinging.

In a world where nothing comes easy and everything is incredibly dirty, a man and a pony are going to have to rely on each other to make it through.

Rarity prides herself on her work, and when letters start pouring in from Canterlot after the Royal Wedding she is overjoyed by the enthusiasm for her dresses. Drawing on her friend Fancy Pants, she is able to set up a temporary shop in Canterlot for one month, where she will do her best to turn out as many dresses and outfits as she possibly can.

She swears to Twilight and her friends that she won't fall for the allure of the big city again, and that Ponyville won't have to go long without her... but once there, she is quickly swept up in the grandeur and glamour of post-Wedding Canterlot. Her clients are rich, prestigious and famous, with clout and influence to burn...

...but it is one mare, a simple gray earth pony, who catches her attention. She doesn't behave like the rest- she is quiet, yet when she speaks she is witty and clever, not dull and droll like the others. She dodges Rarity's questions about her artfully, which only piques the white unicorn's interest and nigh-on forces her to dig deeper into the community to find out about this mysterious mare named Octavia.

But what does she hope to find? Why is she so driven to find out more about the gray earth pony musician... and what will she do with the information she gleans?

Five years. Five years have passed since Cheerilee chose to quit as a teacher. She had thought that life was behind her, but finds herself drawn back in, compelled to help her former students through their teenage years.

She will discover more about both them and herself then she thought possible.

Carrying more emotional baggage than her students, she will find that the journey to self-forgiveness, while not an easy one, is not one that can be ignored.

While mildly envious of Twilight Sparkle's ascension to Alicorn, Trixie notices a silver lining. With Twilight now being an Alicorn, the title for most powerful Unicorn remains up for grabs. Join everyponys "favorite" showmare as she sets off on a journey to truly become "Great and Powerful".

Hoity Toity and Photo Finish are both very stubborn ponies, and so how will a relationship work between them? It will take big sacrifices in pride, for both of them. They will definitely have fights, but hey, you can't really control who you love, can you?

But what begins as a greedy quest for riches and glory, will become a mission to save Equestria from unspeakable evil.
