When an assignment from school randomly pairs Scootaloo and Silver Spoon together, Scootaloo discovers a secret that could ruin her partner forever.
There are things you just don't say. Some lines you just don't cross, ever. The reason you don't cross them is because of empathy: you know how bad it feels to hear certain things, and you know you wouldn't like it if you heard it yourself. This is a view not shared by everypony.
Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon crossed the line. Rarity learns of it. Rarity is not amused.
Everypony draws their line in the sand somewhere.
Disclaimer: contains Rarity in a state of barely lucid rage as well as the use of harsh words. Also Cheerilee being as effective as she is in the show, on average. If you do not enjoy episodes like Ponyville Confidential or any other episode where ponies talk harshly to each other, chances are this'll ruffle some feathers.
If this resembles real life situations or anyone you know, this is not the author's intent nor the author's problem.
Added notice 10/12/13: No, not based on any Season 4 storyline or spoilers, it's an old idea. The spoiler just prompted the publishing.
Added 2021 notice: please check the author's notes before commenting, chances are you'll find some answers there.
When Adagio is caught wearing a rather unusual piece of clothing, Aria and Sonata can not help but ask questions about it.

Before the presentation, Silver Spoon was ready to laugh at Granny Smith and mock Apple Bloom mercilessly. When the presentation was over, she was the first to applaud the wizened old mare. On the surface, this is just a simple gesture and nothing more. After all, everypony else liked Granny Smith's story (except for Diamond Tiara). What makes Silver Spoon's applause so different other than the fact that she was first?
Believe it or not, there is an answer to that question. Because to Silver Spoon, that simple gesture carries a lot of meaning, even if nopony else notices it...
Maud is the reigning champion of stand-up comedy in Equestria. But, with the discovery of the kirin village comes a new challenger to the forefront: Autumn Blaze.

Takes place after "Sounds of Silence" so, you know, there might be some spoilers.
After the Battle of the Bands, Sunset Shimmer struggles to find middle ground between the person she wants to be and the person others at school expect her to be. Thankfully, Twilight Sparkle is a good listener and has enough patience for the both of them. [Post Rainbow Rocks, one-shot] [Slight Sunset Shimmer x Twilight Sparkle]
7/7/2016: Now with cover art designed by the very generous Novel-Idea! Thank you so much!
With the defeat of the sirens and her subsequent acceptance at school, Sunset Shimmer had thought her life had made a turn for the better.
She thought it would be easy to simply forget the Dazzlings.
However, a run-in with Sonata Dusk brings in another perspective on the whole Battle of the Bands episode, one Sunset had never really stopped to contemplate.
After all, it takes one monster to understand another...
Right?
