After the events that led to Spike's fateful destiny and future with Dark Spike along with the events involving the Friendship Journal, Spike has departed to the mirror world in search of a better life and home to ensure his dark self would cease to exit. Even with Twilight and her friends trying to find him, he still wouldn't try to come back to Equestria.

While in the mirror world, Spike is desperately trying to fight the darkness from the powers he gained from his fight with his dark self, in spite of it tempting him to harm others. He is not alone in this battle when he meets a familiar face.

However, as life goes on, Spike still has to choose. Which path is the one for him? And if so, will his future ever be free again?

However, Spike still feels uneasy because of his fear of the future that will cause him to indeed become him because of what the Future versions of Starswirl and Chrysalis said.

However, both the girls and Spike must now put their fears aside and face not only the darkness that will come, but be ready for the challenges they will face in their future.

Set in the Rogue Diamond universe.

It’s Mother’s Day. But every year, on this particular day, for Spike, it feels like the anniversary of the death of someone who was like a mother to him.

The once benevolent Princess Celestia-turned-Daybreaker.

At the very ripe age of nineteen Spike is still dealing with his dravyern blood. It made him strong, durable, he even has cool fire breathe and wings. The thing that sucked? He was still short. Due to his blood, he'd age physically differently from all his friends and family. So he was stuck shorter then most, due to this he'd get mistaken for a young teen despite being a legal adult. He even drove a car for god's sake!

The one who seemed to forget this the most was his sister Twilight who deemed that he'd need to be watched while home alone for the week or two she was gone. Despite his best attempts to argue he's stuck at home being watched by one of their mutual friends, Rainbow Dash.

She doesn't seem to mind just chilling for a few weeks, she was getting paid after all. But Spike is fed up with the way he's treated. He's at the end of his fuse when Rainbow Dash expertly starts a flashfire that ends unexpectedly.

Constant things: there is magic but life is based heavily on modern-day, people humans with the subspecies being Soulsage[people born with magic], Skyborn[people born with retractable wings, Terrans[strong humans with tougher than average bodies, Alicians[people born with the traits of all three]. Other races represent Griffins[Griffman], Dragons[Dravyerns] and such as well.

When Gabby reveals that Griffonstone's never has a holiday like Hearts and Hooves Day, Spike took it upon himself to make Gabby's first one in Equestria the best she's ever had.

A tie-in to the episode Dragon Dropped.

Spike is writing letters back and forth to his new pen pal, who seems to have a lot in common with him. Together, words are said and a strong bond was formed between the two distant friends.

Spike was just your average, run of the mill, regular kind of baby dragon, who is Twilight's Number One assistant.

That all changed, however, when he got involved in secret agent works with a retired guard and a background pony. Now, he's doing secret agent stuff.

He's a S.M.I.L.E. Dragon.

Smolder and Spike hang out in a makeshift lair to discuss life or stir up a little trouble. Just a place to escape Equestria and chill, or in this case burn stuff.

Spike and Gabby have been dating for quite some time now, but this is the first time Spike has invited his girlfriend to spend Heart's Warming Eve with him and his family. Will Spike be able to survive the onslaught? Will Gabby achieve her secret goal?
