It has been ten years since Octavia has seen her mare friend Vinyl Scratch since they parted ways for their careers. But when the cellist meets Vinyl again she noticed something was very off about her. It turned out her fears were true after receiving a call for help from the DJ. Only thing is that seeing Vinyl again just unlocked a hidden trail of a murderer. Octavia must find out who the pony is and what was his motive for hurting Vinyl. But sniffing around might lead to more trouble for both Octavia and Vinyl. She won’t be alone of course, she’ll have old friends helping her including, Lyra Heartstrings, Bonbon, Apple Fritter, Beauty Brass, Applejack, Rainbow Dash, Twilight Sparkle and Ditzy Doo.

Can Octavia and her friends uncover this murderer’s plot in time or will her efforts to save the mare she loved come too late?

After being apart for five years, Vinyl finds out that Octavia got married. Knowing there is no way she can have back what they once had, Vinyl feels alone. She won't let anybody in. She won't let anybody help. She just wants to forget her biggest mistake: letting Octavia go.

This takes place after the events of Autograph by RushingAutumnLeaves. I suggest you read that story first.

After realising her dream was not playing in the Canterlot elite Octavia moves back to Manehattan. Though how will Vinyl react when her former best friend in the world comes back after not having spoken in five years? Will their relationship ever be the same, or have they both changed?

An argument between Octavia and Vinyl Scratch becomes heated, and Vinyl does something that threatens to tear their friendship apart forever. Dejected, depressed, and guilt-ridden, Vinyl attempts to drown her sorrows in several glasses of liquor, but soon discovers that hard-drinking won't help make amends, or make her feel any better about what happened.

Equestria. A nation emerging from a brutal war. 13 Districts of the land previously stood together, hoof in hoof, and rose up against the Capitol that had ruled in tyranny for so long. On fought the Earth Ponies, the Pegasi, the Unicorns, and the Alicorns. But one District was destroyed, and the Alicorns were no more, leaving the remaining districts to mourn their losses, and face the Capitol. Then, during the darkest hour, a truce was offered, and a treaty was signed.

"The races of Equestria chose to rise against the Capitol that had cared for them. In penance for their uprising, each district shall offer up a Stallion and a Mare between the ages of 12 and 18 at a public "reaping". These tributes shall be delivered to the custody of the Capitol. The original Hunger Games trilogy takes place at the time of the 74th games. This story goes all the way back, back to the time of an Equestria fresh out of a horrific war. The peace treaty has been signed, and the games set to go ahead. The tributes involved face a daunting task: to compete in a brutal fight to the death in the very first Equestria Games.
