It's not often that Celestia gets to spend any time with her sister, what with most of the younger sister's time devoted to some mysterious quest known as League. When they do get some time together, it's normally over a Friday evening meal. It's one of the highlights of Celestia's week.

Due to Luna's table manners, it is also a major low point.

With rumors Discord have been turned to stone by the Tree of Harmony and his apparent will found, Cosmos have been empowered to read it to the Mane Six, Spike, and Prince Blueblood. But what will they expect from the Master of Chaos.

Something's been bothering Sunset Shimmer for a while now.

How can there be a human version of Princess Celestia who's in her early forties, when Princess Celestia herself is thousands of years old?

The Rainbooms catch wind of Celestia and Luna's upcoming family reunion, and decide to crash it.

What they find there is...disturbing.

For years, Luna has endured the guilt of Nightmare Moon and subjected herself to the nightmares of the Tantabus as punishment. When she lost control of it, her friends in Ponyville were able to stop it and things seemed all right for a time...

...but what about Celestia? What about Luna's closest friend, a pony who had no idea what was going on in her little sister's mind?

"I created the Tantabus to give myself the same nightmare every night. To punish myself for the evil I caused as Nightmare Moon.

Luna is forced to face the consequences of keeping her feelings of self-loathing hidden, in the form of her very angry sister.

One thousand years ago Luna was banished to the moon, on the day prophesied she returns to take revenge on her sister and the ponies who shunned her night. It's too bad she can't find anypony to take revenge on.

My version of Lauren Faust ending up in Equestria. I probably got her character all wrong. Hey, I never met her, cut me some slack.

So, Lauren Faust is Queen of Equestria in this story. How will she react? How will everypony else react? And what does Pinkie's chimicherrychangas have to do with all of this? One thing is clear already. For Twilight and her friends it won't be the same.

Added AU tag, 'cause someone mentioned it would be safe. And when I think about it, I don't think we ever get to learn who the princesses parents are.

Just a note, this is set during season two. So the events of "A Canterlot Wedding" haven't happened yet.

This story is a sequel to If You Came to Conquer

Princess Nightmare Moon had tried to keep it secret. She had suppressed her power, feigned ignorance, played the outdated fool at every opportunity. She should have known that something like this would happen. A threat that would reveal her, whether she played dumb or not.

If she had to reveal herself, then at least she could protect Equestria in the process. She nocked the arrow. The bow felt so flimsy, but she could not risk him absorbing a spell. She laced magic across the arrow and the string and the air, enough to make it fly faster and aim smoother. She sighted him easily; Tirek was a large target. Now he only had to turn around. An arrow to the spine would kill him simply and instantly, no matter how much magic he had absorbed.

Once he was dead, the hard part would come: explaining herself to Celestia.

Nightmare Moon won. She defeated Celestia, broke the Elements, banished the sun. This all happened a very long time ago. So long ago, that she has had plenty of time to change her mind.
