Three weeks after the events of Rainbow Rocks, the sirens are desperate. Without their hearts—the jewels that hold their magic—they have no power. They can't sing, can't manipulate people, and worst of all, can't feed. Their only hope is to restore their hearts, and they need to do it soon, before all three of them starve.

The problem is, they're not sure how to fix the hearts. All they've managed to figure out is that they'll need magic to do it, and magic is exactly what they don't have. Scared, starving, and completely out of options, the sirens turn to the last people who would ever want to help them, and the only ones who actually can: the Rainbooms.

The girls get lost in the snowy northern mountains. Rainbow Dash struggles to find her friends in the unrelenting wall of snow.

These are the thoughts that are running through Twilight's mind after Rainbow leaves for Cloudsdale in search of answers. But in Cloudsdale, all is not as it seems - and when Rainbow returns, her friends are in for a nasty shock.

One Mother's Day, Twilight Sparkle becomes determined to find out who Rainbow's mother is and drag her back to Ponyville to reunite with her daughter.

Rainbow Dash's mother is Daring Do. And she's inconveniently off "researching" her next book.

Now, Rainbow Dash has to go on a journey. A journey of self-discovery. A journey of a thousand unanswered questions.

A journey to find...her biomom.

Oh, and there's an ancient alicorn tomb and a closely guarded secret that'll change the history of Equestria forever, but that's just another day in the life of Daring Do.

Under unfortunate circumstances Applejack has been transferred to a high class High School only to meet Rainbow Dash, a student whom AJ slowly starts to have feelings over. The catch being she already has a girlfriend, hard family issues and a serious past with Gilda. Twists and turns of confessions and secrets filled with drinking games and injuries might convince this jock of who she truly loves. Will AJ have it in her to survive this twisted love triangle, this jock who has more to her then her cover shows, or the past relationship that threatens her very life? Applejack is bitter about her lineage among the wealthy and sophisticated Oranges of Manehattan, who apparently abandoned her simple country family. Rarity is desperate to fit in with the urbane elites of the fashion world, even if it means disparaging and rejecting the Ponyville home she loves. On a trip to the big city for Equestria's famous Fashion Week, Applejack will teach Rarity to be honest and true to herself, and Rarity will show Applejack that a little generosity and forgiveness go a long way. Together, they will learn that each has exactly what the other needs to be complete.

This story is in the same continuity as "The Fires of Friendship," and I suppose it is a sequel of sorts, though there is no need to read that story first. More than anything, this story is birthday present for a dear friend, and a fun celebration of her favorite ship.
