Two MLP fans who live half a world away from each other begin a romance RP.

This is a slightly experimental style of story, following two parallel narratives: a romance between Pinkie Pie and Rainbow Dash in Equestria, and the relationship between two RPers in our world.

Although the rules of fimfiction forbid chat logs being published as stories, I'll note that the chat logs in this story are fictional — they have been entirely crafted by the author, and are not just copied and pasted from a real chat — and only form a small part of the story. I asked a moderator before I even started writing, and he seemed to think it would be okay. While the story is intentionally written as if it could have been an RP, I can assure you I wrote the whole thing myself. I've never even RPed PinkieDash.

Applejack and Sunset Shimmer have been spending a lot of time together recently, so why do they suddenly seem so distant? And why does Sunset seem to have abandoned her new-found friends?

Set between the events of Equestria Girls and Rainbow Rocks, this story may contain mild contradictions with Rainbow Rocks, but probably not enough to warrant an alternative universe tag. Although the story is marked complete, I'm not ruling out further chapters being added in the future, if I think of a way to continue it.

When Twilight Sparkle was just a kid, her best friend was a girl named Sunset Shimmer. Though their friendship had a bit of a rocky start, they quickly became inseparable, no matter how much everyone thought of them as ‘weird’. They were there for each other.

Years after the tragic accident that tore them apart, Twilight is determined to move on from her loss, and she sets off on an independent research project to investigate the strange happenings at Canterlot High. Little does she know that she will soon come face to face with what appears to be a literal ghost from her past.

Three weeks after the events of Rainbow Rocks, the sirens are desperate. Without their hearts—the jewels that hold their magic—they have no power. They can't sing, can't manipulate people, and worst of all, can't feed. Their only hope is to restore their hearts, and they need to do it soon, before all three of them starve.

The problem is, they're not sure how to fix the hearts. All they've managed to figure out is that they'll need magic to do it, and magic is exactly what they don't have. Scared, starving, and completely out of options, the sirens turn to the last people who would ever want to help them, and the only ones who actually can: the Rainbooms.
